Die Spanische Treppe (italienisch Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti, der deutsche Name ist von der unterhalb gelegenen Piazza di Spagna abgeleitet) in Rom ist eine der bekanntesten Freitreppen der Welt.

Well they are what they say they are steps! Well worth a visit both day and night but busy all the time. Climb to the top for some great views. A good place to sit and watch the world go by and the world literally does go by. 🖒

Great place. Definitely recommend to visit. The fountain is also great. Lots of people and shops. You should at least sit down for 5-10 mins to feel the place. It looks amazing from the top of the steps. You can take a horse carriage riding from the place and make a tour around the city. The metro station is also very close by. So you can reach the Spanish steps very easily from anywhere. Also at night it's beautiful. Definitely recommend this. So if you are visiting Rome, try to visit Spanish steps.

Interesting to see, easy to add on if in the area but there is nothing remarkable about them. Do yourself a favor and buy the 1st flower somebody offers you or your significant other. Then you will not be accosted by the salesmen the rest of your journey as long as you have it out.

The Spanish Steps and the surrounding plaza are lovely. There is a really nice atmosphere in the area, and it is usually buzzing with the restaurants and bars in the plaza. The steps themselves are really nice but not as impressive as some of Rome's other sights. They still offer a nice architectural design and the views from the top are great. There is a nice fountain at the foot of the steps as well. What I didn't enjoy about the area is that you are constantly harassed by street merchants offering you flowers. They literally shove them in your hands and let go. They then demand payment for the flower even though you didn't want it. If you refuse you can expect a small confrontation or hurled verbal abuse in a foreign language.

It was cool but they are just a series of steps. You should definitely walk by it especially after visiting the Trevi Fountain as it is in the same general location. The metro station is not that far away either which makes it nice if you end the day here.

Very busy during the day, hardly any room to sit/climb during certain times of the day. Great Piazza, as you walk up to the top of the steps you will have occasional street vendors trying to sell items to you. You can politely refuse or always bargain to get roses and other items from them.

In the Summer, it is a great place for meeting with friends and do some fun. Besides the historical value of this place, it's look nice. Different cultures tourist are making a friendly and funny environment. I love it.

A different genre of culture and architecture offers a fresh perspective to Rome locals and tourists alike. The broad steps going up the hill are an ideal place to sit down and chat time away. There is nothing much else to see or do here anyway.

Approx. 2 years ago when I was there the biggest part were under construction, so I decided to go again! It was definitely worth to go there! These Stairs are very impressive, even it was full with tourists sitting there! When you climb it up you can feel how many feet used it in the past and now! From the top you have a great view over the city of Rome! It's definitely one of the sights you must see when you are in Rome!

Piazza Venezia is so much bigger with more look at that I personally didn't understand why evens talks about this. According to my husband is one of the things that's famous because of good pr. The steps aren't really Spanish. The base of the stairs might be quarried from Spain, but the style and actual visible exterior is not. It is huge, and probably beautiful, when not competent covered in tourists. This was one of 3 things receive said to go to. It's pretty and neat, but everything in Rome is. Didn't make the top of my list, but I'm glad we saw it.

A good place to chill out for a bit and people watch. Definitely worth a visit if you have time at least. There are some expensive shopping streets nearby if that's what you're into. Remember you're not allowed to eat on the steps... hefty fines if you do! Also there seem to be a lot of 'rose sellers' around these parts. Whilst we were there, there was another scam attempt where someone would shout 'SIGN AGAINST DRUGS'. They want you to sign their petition and then give them money... incredible how people fall for this and I seem a few actually pay them! I mean come on, the people scamming you and asking you to sign against drugs, actually look like they're using drugs themselves. Just be mindful and don't support these scams or the street sellers...

Definitely a nice place to visit, but personally I don't find it much interesting. Rome has beautiful architecture almost wherever you go, and to me the Spanish steps don't stand out very much in my own opinion. Either way, do visit!

More aptly called the French Steps, the famous landmark connects the French section above to the Spanish section below. According to our guide, the French were the ones who commissioned it, but because of the bitter rivalry between the two countries, the locals refer to it as the Spanish Steps. The very visible fountain at the bottom of the Steps are always crowded with people, either hanging out or cooling off. This area is essentially equivalent to Rodeo Drive, with all the top-end shops having a presence here. If you want to look for new or vintage luxury watches, this is the place to come, as there are more than a handful of stores around.

Like the name says it's steps but really marvellous. The scenery is amazing once you reach the top. A favourite picture spot for tourists so you will see a lot of selfie enthusiasts and picture postures here. I had to wait a bit to find a clear spot but it was good wait. There are normally lots of flowers on the step and it makes it more beautiful on good summer day. Lots of good shopping and eating places nearby so must visit place for any tourist.

Great addition to any trip to Rome! We really enjoyed lounging on the steps in the morning with pastries and cappuccinos from down the street. Definitely would recommend going earlier to avoid the crowds since it’s such a big tourist spot. Near to luxury shopping areas too!

We were pretty underwhelmed after seeing other sites around Rome and walking countless other steps. I'm sure it could be better if it wasn't super crowded with tourists and cigarette butts everywhere. Not to mention the guys trying to push roses on me every few feet... Good pics from the top and a nice church to relax in out of the sun.

A beautiful place to sit and relax and soak in Rome after enjoying the other near sites in Rome like the Pantheon or Trevi Fountain. It can be hot during the day because the steps don't start to get shaded until the later afternoon but still beautiful. I'd suggest planning this visit as a time to relax during a long day of walking and exploring. I didn't get to see them at night but I bet it would be amazing then as well.

Very crowded during the day but still beautiful. If you want to get pictures with less of a crowd come late. There's a great tea shop next to the steps. Servers are dressed in Victorian style, desserts, exotic tea blends. Great spot to go after you fight the crowd.

Great place for people gazing. And do expect a lot of crowd. After renovation it looks even more beautiful (than older pictures) and attracts anyone who visits Rome. Be sure to have some time to spend there, observe other tourists and locals, and preserve it by not having food, drinks, or smoking there. Else the cops will ask you to leave.

It's beautiful. And you get a great view from the top. Take your time to savour it, really take it all in. In Roma there is so much to see and do it's to easy to say " OK I have done that what's next? " and rush of to the next attraction. The area it is in is a great shopping area with high end Brands. It also has one of the coolest McDonald's I have seen it has a Gelato and Pastry 🥧 counter when you enter.

Beautiful place, nice view of the sunset too. Warning, whatever you do, do not let the vendors carrying flowers give you a flower for “free” or they will immediately ask for money, even if they forced it into your hand. They usually target women, so just be careful.

Spanish steps was something I thought of as a overhyped place and man was I wrong it's a melting pot of culture and people and diversity. You can just sit on the steps and spend the whole day watching people and what they are doing. Really and interesting place and one where I would recommend going late in the evenings during summer time to avoid the heat. I want their with my family and we had lot of fun sitting relaxing and walking around the steps. My 4 year old made the most out of it.

Visited in the evening. Just amazing! Peaceful. This place has a really nice atmosphere. It wasn't too crowded. Cool place. Worth a visit.
