Beautiful sight as you approach from the side roads. Dramatic thunderous sound of the water can be heard as you approach and then you are met with the beautiful artistic fountain. Traditionally you turn your back to the fountain and whilst holding 3 coins in your right hand you throw them over your left shoulder. This is said to ensure you return to Rome. The coins are collected and used to support the homeless. I went in February and although there were lots of people, it was easy to get to the pool of the fountain. At night it is lit up and this adds to the dramatic view. Absolutely amazing.

Beautiful fountain. An excellent piece of art.Must place of visit. May be you will have to walk a bit.But worth it. Also a street artist/ beggar on the way hiding his face n performing may interest kids n kids like adults!! # The Trevi Fountain is one of the oldest water sources in Rome. The fountain dates back to ancient Roman times, since the construction of the Aqua Virgo Aqueduct in 19 B.C. that provided water to the Roman baths and the fountains of central Rome.

Awesome, historic. Not to crowded as I went in January. Maybe best time of the year to visit. Went during the evening so i could enjoy sunset going over the statues. It created a nice atmosphere. Also in darkness the light made it beautiful.

A very cool place to see at night. The waterfalls are marvelous in lights. I was so impressed that I visited again during daylight but In the day light it doesn't look that beautiful. There is a saying that who so ever through a coin in water and wishes to return again to Rome, the wish is fulfilled.

Walking through the streets of Rome at night, enjoying the view and company, I stumbled upon this priceless piece of artistic history. This was my first night in Rome so I decided to just take a stroll without checking the map or location of monuments. Trevi Fountain is beautiful at night, it was new-year's day so there was quite a crowd gathered for pictures. It's a famous spot so I think there will usually be a good amount of crowd there. The lighting at the fountain is picturesque and I recommend coming here during the evening to enjoy the sight. Oh, and you might have seen it in a few movies (Lizzy Maguire, Roman Holiday, etc.)

Absolutely stunning fountain. Definitely visit here when in Rome. It's a great place to chill out and watch what's happening in the square. It does get extremely packed so you will have to try and fight your way to front or go early in the morning or later at night to see it with the lights on. My first visit I didn't even get a chance to toss my coin in.

Stunning and worth fighting the crowds to see. The Trevi fountain is a masterful work of art and wonderfully maintained. It glistens in the sunlight and you could find a thousand different details on each carved figure or surface. At night, the dramatic lighting makes the statues seem to come alive as the light, color, and shadows dance. The fountain is surrounded by shops and street peddlers, and the atmosphere is always lively. Grab a gelato nearby and take some pics. Don’t forget to throw a coin in the fountain to ensure your return to Rome!

Rome's must-see. Beautifully placed magnificent fountain - huge, impressive, unexpected among narrow cobbled streets. If you go to Di Trevi metro station, prepare for 5-10 minutes walk - go down the main street, look for brown tourist signs. There are nice place to sit, eat, hang out around. Magnificent church on the left from the fountain.

Great tourist place to visit. Very romantic also. Great when the sun is shining for the perfect photo, too! Don't forget to make a wish as you throw your lucky coin into the fountain's water, lots of people do this and the water is full of coins! One of the largest fountains in the world, I think the second largest. Completely made out of Italian marble, so quite breathtaking views if you climb the steps behind the monument and take your pictures and or selfies from there. Would definitely recommend!

We visited trevi fountain in evening after finish our full day sightseeing rush. It was magical in first view as grand Roman architect beauty glittering in sparkling blue water of fountain. It was packed of tourist till late night. After full of sightseeing; it was moment of relaxation and beauty. Our kids enjoyed this place more than us. I think that's why people make there wish to revisit Rome at this place. In short unforgettable experience.

The reputation is not wrong. This is a piece of wonder to gaze upon. The white glistening marble looks wonderful from any angle. the water is also very clear. It draws crowds through out the whole day. It's a bit sad that it's surrounded by buildings and cobble stone streets so close to it. this is well worth your time to go and see. Take you time there too and look at the horse and all that's around it

Fantastic fountains, beautiful sculpted design with an awesome flow of water through them. When we visited them it was a beautiful day and that brought literally hundreds of people out to see them. Be prepared to see armed police there due to the highted level of security. Not that there has been an incident just keeping people safe from the many nutters out there in the world these days. Still well worth a visit and our trip wasn't marred one bit in fact if anything it made you feel more secure. Little tip if you visit here just by the fountains there a little ice cream shop selling real Italian ice cream. Pay the €5 it's stunning just don't let it drip over your shirt like I did!

The first time I went in July of 2014, it was covered in scaffolding which was a huge disappointment, but it was still beautiful. However, when I went in May 2018 with three of my friends it was cleaned up and the water was turned on. It was one of the most gorgeous landmarks I have ever seen. You must push your way to the front for better pictures, tossing a coin in the water, and to truly enjoy the fountain in all of its glory.

Absolutely worth it to come see this artistic marvel. Carved into the white marble are some truly awe inspiring statues of Neptune and Triton among the crystal blue water. When complimented with plenty of rays of sunshine, this place is truly packed with people who all want to see this work of art, would definitely recommend.

Beautiful fountain. Recommended going early if possible. Our train got in at 6:30am and when we got to the fountain at about 7:30 it was perfect. Not crowded and we got to take pictures and spend some time there. When we went back later at 2pm it was crazy!

Of the big places in Rome to visit, this was easily my favorite. It wasn't nearly as crowded as I expected and I was easily able to get a picture front and center with no one else in it. I made a nice wish with a penny. The water is beautiful and the sculptures are magnificent. It's very easy to locate too. Lots of people trying to sell you stuff though.

This was my favourite fountain to see in Rome! Very beautiful and a perfect place to sit down and have a rest on a summer's day. Yes, it is very busy and crowded, but even with the crowds we could make our way to the edge of the fountain relatively easily and was able to get a few good photos. Also great they have a drinking fountain next to the Trevi with cold running water.

So nice we visited twice! The first time was on our arrival in Rome. Unfortunately they were doing repairs and the fountain was “off” but still full of people admiring the architecture. Upon our second visit, everything was functioning as normal. It’s quite a beautiful site when fully operational. Taking a good pic can be difficult during peak times, if recommend going very early (8am) and you can basically have the fountain to yourself. Otherwise be prepared for big crowds, but it never felt unsafe due to the security and groups of families in the vicinity.

It’s really a magical fountain. The story behind it it’s also cool to read before going. We went once with day light and once in the night and I highly recommend to go at night. It looks so beautiful that you can stare at it a long time without getting tired. Of course, it’s full of people, but with a good reason. Is something you can’t miss if you go to Rome!

If you want an amazing experience in Rome I would highly recommend the Trevor fountain. It is an incredible sight and one that all should see. I would have to say that it is a very busy place, as it is one of the best tourist places in Rome. With this also be careful as there are pickpockets who will want you phones and wallets so keep a tight hold. If you are in Rome make sure you visit it as it is a sight for all to see
