Pohutu geyser is majestic and beautiful. You can observe it's activity almost every hour - about 20 eruptions per day. That beautiful, turquoise pond is a lukewarm Blue Lake and is created from flowing water from geyser eruption. Pohutu environment is very charming and colorful

We just wanted to take some pictures of the Geyser and had no idea that we would have to pay a lot of money for it. The very impolite Lady at the parking lot made us aware of that. Since we came from Auckland just to see it we paid the tickets, but I wouldn't do it again if I knew before.

Amazing must do the Maori culture experience great feed guide has awesome knowledge of the area and his/hers heritage great gift shop and awesome wood carvings, best of all get to see kiwi birds ☺️☺️

Access Pohutu Geyser via Te Puia. Entry is expensive. They have tours or you can walk around yourself. The Pohutu Geyser area is impressive , especially for first timers. It's a long walk to the Geyser.
