The location is top notch, such a nice view. The beaches have nice sunbeds and showers. And the staff speaks English really well.

This place has the music so loud they are annoying the whole bay over to the next beach. We are there on Sunday afternoon... (3 o'clock) Please don't support this hotel or bar

Breakfast - variety of food poor. Selection of food not topped up.
Evening meals - I can only comment on one night of waiter served meals which resulted in waiting 45 minutes for the main course to arrive. It wasn't worth the wait the quality was very poor. Following this we dined out every night.
Our room was a standard room which was a reasonable size. The shower area extremely small with the controls needing to be on a different wall to the shower head. When trying to stand under the shower head due to the limited width of the enclosure ones back or arm altered the flow and temperature of the shower control lever.
Pads on the loungers in the grounds would be nice
Would I come back - yes but only on B&B. We enjoyed our evenings dining in the some of the many restaurants in town.
Whilst there is an evening bar at the hotel with limited seating outside most people go into town.
Everything else was great from the boat service, all the hotel staff and also the island.

Stay at Island Hotel Katarina turned out to be a very pleasant surprise, rooms are a bit outdated, but staff is very nice and helpfull, surroundings is beautiful (island and also Rovinj), but greatest thing is - food is great, it is like hotel restaurant should get some michelin stars... every meal is a surprise, with lots of new and very fine things to try... trully, a nice gastro weekend for us...

Very nice place to have quiet and relaxing holiday at the small island full of trees and greenery. Excelent food and very professional and attentive staff, especially at the reception.

When the website says “rustic” they mean worn out. The hotel is trying to be a nice resort and they are working on some updates (new dock and waterline)
However, it is a dump. Our room had ants and spiders and we checked it after 1 day. The staff was accommodating for our early departure, which is why I give it 2 stars.
Stay at your own risk.
