Located in the very center of the city, easy to get by bus or metro. You can join an excursion group with the guide, or take audio guide or walk around and enjoy the masterpiece yourself. Museum contains several big rooms where you can see different pieces of art made of gold, silver, enamel. One room contains orthodox icons. Museum is not crowded in late autumn - winter period. Good that it's open till late evening (6 PM) even on Sundays. Security is at good level, you will be requested to pass through the scanner at the entrance (like in airports)
If you love Faberge Eggs, then you must come here. There is a collection of the original eggs on display plus some information about the history and maker. It's beautiful. It is fairly new, I think it only just opened when I visited in Oct 2017.
A very beautiful place. But still a regular museium. Wanted to see more eggs, which your could have found in Moscow.
The documentation to the exhibit pieces is tragic. I could not make heads or tails from what the book guide said. Some more effort needed because the displayed pieces are breathtaking!
Love it! Unique fine art. A must see if you are in St Petersburg. My admirations to the guide who delivered an engaging tour. We were so excited. Thank you for keeping this history alive.
Absolutely amazingly beautiful collection? The museum also architecturally beautiful. Lovely shops to buy souvenirs
A must see in St. Petersburg. Don't pass by this museum, it's worth of visiting. Full of beautiful and most exciting things from past history. It's open daily, but it may be good to buy tickets beforehand from their website to avoid queue. One of the best museums ever seen.
Excellent exposition, the museum is very well laid out. The recorded guide was easy to use and understand. I loved it
No regret, must visit. Small and easy to tour around the whole museum. Lots of good pieces besides Eggs! With the museum ticket get discount for the hop on hop off cruise tour right outside!
Really cool museum, with Faberge eggs and other whimsical creations. If you're interested in them, it's unmissable because the collection is rich, the palace is beautiful and the information is well presented. The audioguide is really worth it - it's necessary to leave a 1000 rubles deposit, so be prepared.
Great seeing the eggs! Pick up a free guide available in the eggs room to learn a bit more about them or have a tour guide. Lots of other great paintings and decorative arts to see, as well.
Fabulous, exquisite, priceless & unforgettable Truly magnificent, no words can be enough to describe the amazing collections. Privileged to have had the opportunity to visit. Eternally memorable.
Beautiful! Amazing handmade objects. You will spend great time to admire the most beautiful russian jewelry.
Having the chance to see on display a high concentration of their famed Faberge eggs when u hardly get to see them outside of Russia.. makes this a very very special museum worth a visit. The rest of the other rooms are average so a quick 1 hr max stop is a great thing before u hop off to the canal cruise with a pier right outside the museum.
Such a wonderful collection it is certainly a highlight not to be missed. Best with a knowledgable guide to get the most from the visit. There is so much more on display than just the wonderful collection of Faberge Eggs which are certainly the draw card. I found the room filled with magnificent Iconography mesmerizing and didn't want to leave.
A lovely museum. Take the audio guide and spend an afternoon here. Nice coffee shop and gift shop. Spent some chilled out time here. Loved it.
Incredibly well presented museum in a beautiful setting. Also completely suitable for English speakers with all literature and audio in English unlike most other museums and places to visit in Russia! The same experience for an English speaker as it would be for a Russian. Will probably return again as the Eggs are just something special!
This is a Pvt museum of a collection of artwork of the famous Faberge jewelry house. It's housed in Shuvalov palace on the Fontanka river embankment.
