Il Giardino d'Estate (in russo: Летний сад?, traslitterato: Letnij sad) è un parco che si trova a San Pietroburgo e fu in principio realizzato su progetto di Pietro il Grande, zar di Russia, come giardino alla francese.
Beautiful and green with tall and old trees. Must definitely take a walk in it.
I loved this park! So beautiful and interesting.
Most beautiful historic garden. Liked the atmosphere very much on a summer evening before sunset. It has guards at entrances and ice cream and snacks can be purchased on park lanes, as well as other dishes at a restaurant. Museum of the history of the Summer Garden is located in the garden.
English version below. The garden was reconstructed few years ago and it has become a brilliant, cozy, calm and quite place to relax from the noisy loud city. The avenues, bushes and greens, fountains and summer houses - they all let you feel better and better. Don’t about monuments and atmosphere of 18th century that covers you on every step. Enjoy the silence (c)
If I lived in Russia I'd be here everyday. Saint Petersburg is the most beautiful city in the world! Inspiration and art is all around you.
Best to visit in summer. Wonderful place to have nice calm time.
Park in centre of Petersburg. Fountains, sculptures and ponds with birds in is a plce to relax and spend some time with loves ones. This ia not just a regular park, but is us also work of art.
First place I saw in St Petersburg. A charming garden filled with fountains and statues. You can buy snacks and ice cream everywhere. Occassionally street artists display their puppeteer skills. A perfect place for a Sunday walk, especially if you manage to hit a window with less tourists.
What I like best about the garden is that the sculptures were surely chosen by people with great sense of humour :)
I was in the Summer Garden in 2016 and had to pay for a ticket. In may of 2018 we got for free.
A perfect shade shelter on a scorching day. Not to be missed as long as you are here anyways. Public facilities are there as well.
Centrally located so easy to work into your tourist walk around. Lots of great sculptures, although not the originals. Fountains, etc. In the southern part of the park there is a small lake with swans. The restored park looks great, but in a way I preferred the more old rugged look it had before. Still, come and see and relax in the shade.
Beautiful place with loads to see, perfect for a relaxing summertime stroll, will defiantly take the time to go again on my next visit.
