Iconic location well worth the visit. Can't overstate the view and beauty of this historic bridge. The park is great and there's so much to see nearby. The walking paths make for an especially memorable experience, bringing the visitor right into the bridge and over the bay. Take the time to explore this place. Would love more time the next time I'm in the area!

Such an iconic landmark in San Francisco! I have seen it a couple times before, but this time I got some great shots from underneath looking up. It was gorgeous. All that green-blue water underneath, wow, wow, wow. And you truly get to see just how tall that bridge is. It you can't go on it, then just at least see it. Stop and take it in!

Wonderful...A great piece of work by the man... An iconic suspension bridge anchored to the foothills of mountains and supported on giant piers... painted with good contrast colours... Shape of the heavy tendons to transfer the load also presents good view... Just pass through it... And enjoy

Magnificent and even more beautiful in real life. On the south shore, walk east of the bridge for pedestrian friendly sidewalks or head west to take in the rugged coastline and beaches. Unfortunately it was extremely windy when we were there, and walking across it didn’t seem like a good idea. But it was still a memorable visit.

the golden gate bridge is one of the must see places if you are ever going to go the San Francisco. driving on it is very scary, but an amazing experience if you look at the overhead view. me and my Family were in a shuttle bus driving on the bridge with a tour guide, and it was an overall fantastic experience. and the best part is the tunnel that you go through after the bridge. it is very long.

Beautiful place to run or walk. Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge!!! What an experience!!! Walking across the bridge is an absolute must of "things to do" when in town. I only walked half way across, as suggested by a worker at the visitors center. It was just enough. It was pure fun! The view is amazing. Photography is difficult in many sections due to the wire fence (to keep you from jumping?) but there are enough open areas for photography needs. You can also ride a bike across with clearly marked bike/walking paths. I went independently (no tour group) using public transport. It was easy and fast.

It's a nice bridge. The color is satisfying. It feels pretty long in traffic even though it doesn't look THAT long. Then you try to walk along it and realize it's actually pretty long. If you like walking and bridges and looking at San Francisco, it's a great way to spend the day. If not, you'll probably take some pictures then realize you want to do other things throughout the day and go somewhere else. Or maybe you'll use a bike. Those are nice too. It really is a pretty cool bridge. But keep in mind it's just a bridge.

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California – the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula – to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Frommer's travel guide describes the Golden Gate Bridge as "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world." At the time of its opening in 1937, it was both the longest and the tallest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 4,200 feet (1,280 m) and a total height of 746 feet (227 m). Today, the Golden Gate Bridge is neither the longest nor the tallest in the world, but remains the tallest bridge in the United States.

Good place to visit and hangout with family and friends. The “Golden Gate” refers to the strait through which boats go to enter the Bay. It was originally named by U.S. army officer John Fremont in 1846. The hills surroundings the bridge are themselves golden in color much of the year and when the sun is at the right angle it has an extremely beautiful golden glow. The bridge is simply the bridge that spans the Golden Gate Strait. The Golden Gate bridge is regularly painted. Every state in the United States has a bridge maintenance and inspection plan. When built, it was the bridge with the longest span bridge in the world till 1964. Now it is the ninth-longest suspension bridge in the world. It is famous for its extraordinary design. One can swim, across the strait but completely at one's own risk. One can come in at Fort Baker on the North side or at Ft Point on the South. Both are rocky entries and you should visit and enter them during daylight.

Must visit is San Francisco. The best place to be on the west coast. So red so bright.. so serene and so gigantic.. The best way too see the bridge is through its welcome centre. Metered Parking is easily available on the other side of the road. Take a windcheater or pullover if you plan to walk on the bridge as it gets very windy at times. Take a small drive to Baker beach or Vista point to see good views.

Visited this place late in the evening. It was like dream come true. The whole ambience around the place is so spectacular. It's as if you've seen it in movies and feels unreal to be there in person. You should definitely visit the place if you're in SF. Also visit the park nearby. I just wished the shops here remained open a little longer, it was hard to find water bottle late evening.

Amazing! We walked it and got to see whales from the bridge. It was remarkable! We thought about biking it but to get the bikes was a 30 minute walk. The bridge is a 40 minute walk for free. Plus the bikes were a bit of a nuisance to pedestrians and other bikers. The space isn't that wide to accommodate both. Best way to get there is by personal car (if staying in SF not a good idea because of parking) or the hop on hop off. They drop you off right at the bridge where your ticket includes a shuttle across the bridge. Or you can either walk or bike. Electric scooters are not permitted (although I did see one).

Breathtaking views. Super helpful team at the info building, with phone charges!!! (No iPhone charger but you can use your own). And reasonably priced souvenirs which is nice. A bit more out the way than I expected... But SF is a lot bigger than I expected too!

Great place to visit. There is a lot of information regarding the bridge and the history of it which are really interesting. You can walk/bike/drive across the bridge, depending on your preference. It's clean and safe and when you're at the mid bridge, you'll be able to look back to the city of SF as a whole which is really beautiful! Doesn't matter whether it's a sunny or cloudy day, you'll be able to see SF in a different way!

Kinda the most important thing to visit while in San Francisco. That bridge is massive and looks impressive. We couldn't stop being fascinated. It is definitely long. So if you consider walking on it - think twice. Driving took us already 5-10 mins. Also you gotta pay toll after 6pm. Which isn't nice. We didn't know that. And they only have a sign up right before you enter the bridge. Then you can't turn back. But anyways this bridge is worth a visit and will always remain a great memory.

Iconic landmark for San Francisco. Well maintained as a tourist destination. Has awesome views of the city landscape including sea vistas, hills all around and the rising or setting sun. First time visitors need to be careful about the strong winds and definite nip in the air (a good 5~10 degrees) compared to the neighboring areas. A visit must include biking or walking over the bridge to soak in the ambiance.

An absolute marvel of a structure. The views are amazing in all directions. The walkway apparently runs two miles from one end to the other. If driving, the speed limit is 45 mph (no more than that). It's usually packed with pedestrians and traffic due to its popularity and only means of passage from the Marin County side to San Francisco. Travel from San Francisco to Marin County is free but there's a toll charged every time you travel back into San Francisco.

One of the best bridges in the world. Breathtaking views, refreshing breeze, great place to hangout with family and friends. The bridge has a great history - this is the must visit during your visit to the West coast. Magnificent orange color stands out in the midst of the ocean. You can cover this on foot, bicycle or open buses - you will love it in all the forms.

Definitely worth the trip if you find yourself in the Golden state! I was lucky enough to arrive when the golden poppies were blooming. Could have used a little more sun but the governor assured me that next time he would see to it. Coming from the north side of the bay pull off to the right before reaching the bridge to drive up this picturesque winding road that takes you to some pretty fabulous vistas and overlooks. Keep your eyes open for large birds soaring on the air currents below you as you watch great ships sail to and from the bay and Pacific.
