Great place for the whole family to visit. So many stores to visit and so many things to see. Lots of stuffs for the whole family to enjoy while walking all over the pier. People performing in the streets, dancing and singing. But Parking can be an issue, and it can be quite expensive if you spend a lot of times on the pier. Please enjoy if you have a chance to go. You will not regret being there. I will definitely visit next time I go there again.

A very busy and touristic "park". It is like a small city created for tourists right where the city's aquarium is. You can find all usual American food including hard rock, doughnuts and many others. You will also find there the usual tourists shops, take care because the prices are not tagged with taxes so expect to pay a bit more in the cashier (like everywhere in the us, which is weird for Europeans). In the tourists shops you can find magnets, car plates, t-shirts, pullovers and so on. The souvenir products have a good quality and you can. Find almost everything in one place which is nice. It is not a just while in San Francisco but as a tourist you like to visit such places too. Better to buy at once what you want so you don't regret not to find those products in other parts of the city.

There is so much to do here, far more than just a shopping experience. We went to Aquarium at the Bay, which was fantastic. A very cool experience being under water in a tube and seeing the rays and other fish and sharks swimming all around us. It's small, but you can spend a decent amount of time here. We also got coffee and tea from Biscoff a couple of times while in the area. They had great service and the drinks were excellent. We got a bunch of great photos from the water by taking a quick cruise on a taxi boat. Captain Margaret was a pleasure and she did a great job with the tour. Seeing the sea lions up close was really special for our boys. We caught a magic show at the end of the pier that was a real treat. With tons of food options all up and down the pier and plenty of sights, you could easily spend an entire day here and you wouldn't feel like you had been hanging out in one place at all. If you find yourself in the area, give Pier 39 a visit.

Vibrant, funky, scrumptious, cool.... you can never go by without finding something great to take back with you. Being from SA I found myself returning there throughout my trip to soak up as much of the vibe as possible. It’s great for everyone. Great ice cream, great food, great snacks, great gifts. Can’t wait to return.

I was fortunate enough to live close to this place. 1 mile away and I would take evening walks with my friends to this place. Perfect place place to spend time with your loved ones here. Good selection of food with beautiful view. It has someone playing music all the time and some magic shows organized for the kids. Best place to visit with family on a weekend.

We had another amazing trip to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. I've been coming here since I was a kid to see the sea lions and hang out at the San Francisco Bay. It's a very touristy place now but there are some real fun spots you can go to while you're there. The day was so beautiful and sunny. The weather was perfect temperature. We had a chance to get the most delicious clam chowder on Earth.

The pier is always fun. We love hanging out there. Many novelty shops, souvenirs and other cool things you'll find there. Ocean view available from a few restaurants, which is very, very relaxing. Public events, fireworks, fun and games. Street shows and much more. You have got to visit for a relaxing and amusing time.

Hung out at Pier 39during Fleet Week. I took the train up one day with my bicycle and rode up with a friend parking at Giants Stadium parking lot the second day saw the Blue Angels and many other great aircraft do their thing. It was a lot of fun but a bit on the pricey side for me. Definitely a great place for tourists I am a native Californian and had not been there for a while so it was worth it. Pier 39 and its surrounding areas are a great place to view the air shows during Fleet week I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

A must visit place when in San Francisco. Plenty of restaurants and shops to you to. Lots of entertainment for the whole family. Make sure you check the sea lions out. An amazing sight. The restrooms are very clean and tidy. The prices are a bit jacked up but thats normal for any tourist destination like this. Accessible by tram and bus too.

This was our first sightseeing stop during our trip to San Francisco, and it is very busy. I knew it would be busy, it’s your typical touristy spot, but with lots to offer people, and awesome things to do, see, and eat. There is literally something for everyone. If you’re a foodie, especially a seafood lover, you’ll be in heaven. If you love to shop, or collects souvenirs, this is your place. Some of the shops were expensive, but we did see some places that had pretty decent deals and sales. If you’re into activities/attractions, there’s tons to do. From the carousel, to the little stage performance, bungee trampoline combo, a 7D interactive ride, photo booths, etc. I was solely there for the sights, and the views. It’s beautiful, the water, the views of all the ships on he water, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and my favorite....the sea lions. There was so many of them, lounging right off the pier, it was amazing to see them. This place is great for everyone, and we loved it.

Fun place to check out! We enjoyed all the fun things to see here while walking around and spending some time on the Pier, but my favorite was the awesome huge crab statue which of course deserved a few pictures :) The thought and creativity that went into the little details, such as landscaping really made the Pier have a fun feel. Another of our favorite areas was the area near the crab statue that had hedges carved in the shape of sea animals, such as dolphins and octopus. There were a few restaurants on the pier, but prices seemed to be a bit high. Awesome views though and definitely somewhere I'd recommend checking out!

Lots to do, lots to see. Street performers are always fun! Getting caricatures drawn of our family is great too but we usually go for the street artists rather then the pier artists. We always eat at Luigis pizzeria and it never disappoints. But mainly we just walk up and down the pier enjoy the weather, the scenery and the sea lions. Great for locals and tourists.

GREAT tourist spot. Go visit the sea lions, you won't be disappointed! This was the highlight of my day for sure. We sat and watched them while the sun was rising and it was just so beautiful and scenic. If I were ever to stay in this area again, this would be how I start every single day, for sure. It's breathtaking!

I love this place. I've been coming here for ever since I was a kid. There are a lot of shops, restaurants and entertainment. Everything from Starbucks, Hard Rock Cafe, Seafood Restaurants to Live Entertainment. There is always something to see the atmosphere and scenery is awesome. This is a great place to take a date or even take the family out for the day. San Francisco at it's Best!

Pier 39, is the best of both worlds! You have wonderful sea food and the bay to overlook. Spectacular views of Alcatraz, San Francisco, the Oakland and Golden Gate Bridge. Keep in mind that their is a $3.00 parking fee for every 15 minutes. Although there is a fee, you can visit a pier sea food restaurant and get your parking ticket validated so you won't have to pay the parking fee at the end of your visit. Bundle up because the bay gives off very strong wind gust that can be chilling to your spine at times. Best Regards~

Super nice. 4 stars not 5 just because it's super touristic and such you'll see many touristic stores, food quality not as high as you'd expect from prices...but!! A must go if it's your first time in SF! Very nice views of the sea, boats...don't forget to check the sea lions!!!! Nice place to catch the sunset as I did. Very windy so bring a jacket. If looking for SF gifts shopping, that's the place

Very fun place to wonder. Good for a date, a must-see for San Francisco tourists and good places for dinner. In infamous Pier 29, where you can see seals from the pier. There's a good view of the Golden Gate bridge as well and this would be the place you take the boat trips that take you to the Golden Gate bridge and close to Alcatraz island (does not include Alcatraz tour). There's even a magic show going on at times next to the carousel ride. Warning: the parking structure gets filled on busy days and it's 12 an hour or $60 all day. Things to do: Carousel ride Visit Lefty's Take a photo booth picture Mirror Maze Walk the Piano stairs (play the keys) Aquarium of the Bay Boat Tour (3 to choose from) Eat Clam chowder or fish and chips!

Pier 39 is a fun place to visit. It was extremely crowded when I visited recently but that is to be expected. It is a great place for families but also if you are just spending time with friends. Wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking. There are also bicycle taxis and places to rent bikes. There is just so much to do. It's really an awesome place to visit.

We went to catch the ferry to Alcatraz. Turns out that there were no tickets available in the ferry. We chose to hang out at Pier 39. It's an OK area. I won't make an extra effort to visit pier 39. There is not a whole lot to see and do. It's a tourist trap full of seafood restaurants. Parking is one hell.
Stefan Hosemann | juil. 18, 2018
Pier 39 consists of shops and food stores. It basically is a tourist magnet, without tourists this place wouldn't exist. It's fun, however, to walk through it as you feel you're on main Street in Disneyland - it feels very artificial. Unless you want to spend a lot of money, I wouldn't buy stuff there... It also can be very crowded. The sea lions are great, of course. Regard that during the summertime only a few lions are there.. but it's still worth it to see their fascinated animals
Anita Trisch | juin 25, 2018
Very up beat family area. You have parking across the street, but they do charge. Shops, restaurant and even a merry go round. You can see Alcatraz Island from the dock. We used to walk around Chinatown years ago, but this pier is a much more pleasant experience. Tons of sea food. We really appreciate such a clean family place. Seals are in abundance with easy viewing from the pier.
Geoff Griffith | juil. 14, 2018
I thought Pier 39 was pretty good. It's really a bunch of shops and restaurants, all in one area. You can watch the ships come in and out on the pier itself, and there were some sea lions on the flotillas. There was also a street performer on the center stage performing some balancing Acts, which was pretty neat. It was a little bit pricey for the food and items, but probably what you would expect from a tourist attraction. Overall it was pretty good, I give it a four star for family fun!

Can't go to Pier 39 without walking to fisherman wharf they go together. Love the energy about this place remind me of New York so alive excitement everywhere. Lots of restaurants to choose from, local artist show off their goods, while cultural food permeates the air. Tourist attraction is the sea lions on the pier. I was not able to see the sea lions too late. Alcatraz is just a ferry away. Lots of small souvenir shops. We got to watch a one man band playing... Awesome.
