This is one of Pablo Neruda's houses that now is a museum open to the community. In this place you can see how this famous poet lived, and enjoy all those beautiful corners where he shared many times with his woman and friends. This property is managed by a private foundation that is in charge of all his inheritance. A 40 minutes audio guided tour inside the house-museum is available for the visitors for $CLP 7,000 (USD 11). I highly recommend to visit this place.

Visiting Chile without paying homage to Pablo Neruda is like going to St. Peters without knowing who the Pope is. You should visit this wonderful little home tucked in the shadow of the Cerro San Cristobal and be jealous that it is not your home! It will cost you only $7.000 CLP and you can get a self guided tour with a headset in English. This was a city highlight for us.

Great place to go in Santiago. The included audio tour was well made and my six year old daughter could understand. The little store after was expensive but really beautiful.

It is a beautiful house... Incredible... I do not understand why some people complain about it and say that it is not beautiful

La Chascona was an enchanting place. It is one of the homes of Chilean Nobel Prize winning poet Pablo Neruda. Pictures aren't allowed in interior spaces but can be taken outside. Even if you are not familiar with his work, you will feel intrigued by the home and feel the love shared there.

It is interesting to know more about the important Pablo Neruda. There is an audioguide (At least english, portuguese and spanish) really efficient and which leaves you free to visit at any moment without needing to wait for a guide visit. The entrance is not too cheap for foreigners. If you travelling low cost, there are other points in Santiago for free and also interesting.

La Chascona is Pablo Nevada's Santiago home. It continues the Oceania or sea theme and slightly resembles a boat. It is built over several levels, (making use of the slope of the landscape and optimum views) and has narrow staircases, so not particularly appropriate for strollers or wheel chairs. Each level is reached by use of a short outdoor walkway or stairs. It has an excellent audio guide which covers the life of the poet, and the history of Chile at the time. The home, belongings and gardens have been well preserved, giving a good insight into his life. It is well worth a visit. At busy times you can expect to wait, as space is limited as are audio guides.

The house of Pablo Neruda was interesting even for the non Spanish speaking. It is not only a time capsule of 1970s design but also provides an insight into the world of the global artistic community at that time. The summer bar is particularly interesting. You should be able to serve around an hour here without too much trouble.
