This is a national monument whose entrance is part of a fotress and guarded by military. It is interesting to see the busts on pedestels of past presidents. There are pleasant places to sit and plenty of shade. However, this is NOT the place to carouse with your friends. Military will politely but firmly enforce respect. So this is a quiet place to sit for contemplation or perhaps reading a book.

Definitely a must stop as you walk around. The best would be to take a guided tour around the area and be a place you stop to take in the sights. Suprising view inside without giving away much. If you nearby then come and see a part of history...

It is a beautiful place to visit and learn the about how America started. However, it is way too expensive. You have to pay too much money for every historic place you visit, when it all should be close to free for people to enjoy.

Interesting memorial to the 3 people credited with the Dominican Republic winning its independence from Haiti. The 3 are interred in the memorial.
