Akrotiri Lighthouse is a 19th-century lighthouse on the Greek island of Santorini. The lighthouse was built by a French company in 1892, making the lighthouse one of the oldest in Greece. The lighthouse ceased operating during World War II. The Greek Navy recommissioned the lighthouse in 1945. The lighthouse is famed for its sunset views.

This little light house at the tip of the island stands out white against the red and yellow rocks. A few minutes drive from the red beach it offers a short trail to the cliff overlooking the south west end of Santorini with almost a full view of the sea around the island. Typical Greek build, small but lovely to see. There is a small parking near the light house to start a short walk to the edge where you can sit and relax and enjoy the views.

Very windy and not much to see. Very basic lighthouse and a sea view which is similiar to every other sea view. Not worth seeing. Its free but you can't go inside

The best place to be in Santorini. Go there not for the lighthouse, but for the peace that place offers. Don't get busy taking pictures. Sit there at the edge for a while, and soak it in.

You can't go in the lighthouse itself (which is still in use), but there are trails around it that give you a beautiful view across the caldera and out to sea. We were there a bit too early for the sunset, but it looked like a great spot to see it. Off season it's fairly quiet, but there aren't many parking spots so get there early if you're driving.

Also known as faro. It's a 25 to 30 minute drive from first city center. Very windy since it's at a cliff. Tourists are not allowed to go inside the light house however the sea looks nice from outside..can visit if time permits.

Akrotiri light: it is a beautiful place to sit on rocks to have a mesmerising view of sea. The place is very good for spending quantity time with your closeones. Best time to visit : Sun set Note: 1) Try to wear comfortable pair for tracking shoes, as you may need to track a bit for reaching a nice place to sit. 2) Keep a light jacket with you, as winds may feel you little cold.

This place is stunning. An ideal spot to see the incredible Santorini sunset. We found our own spot as it can get pretty crowded.

Stunning views! Some of the best on the island. It's a very nice drive out to the lighthouse as well.

It's a lighthouse. Nothing more nothing less except for the view. Grab something to drink because there's nothing around. A trip to the lighthouse around sunset can get you some beautiful photographs.

Lighthouse it's self you can't access. But the land around it makes for a good photo spot and sunset spot. Make sure to visit Marie at faros Market and the good heart restaurant. Two lovely family run business who know the meaning of Greek hospitality.

The lighthouse is located at the end of the island and it is quite far for a visit. You cannot go up to the lighthouse but you can go to the top of the rocks to see the beautiful view of Santorini. I recommend to visit this place if you have enough time since the view from the top is amazing!

Such a beautiful place it is. On the top of the hill lies one of the oldest lighthouses of Greece and on all other sides you have a mesmerising view of huge Aegean Sea. The best time to visit the place is some time before sun set. The place will give you a kaleidoscopic view when the red hot sun dips in the chilly waters of Aegean Sea. The place is highly windy most of the times, so its better you take a light jacket if you wish to sit there for some time. You will find people sitting or roaming around the lighthouse but if you want to spend some moments of peace better go down to the edge of the cliff facing towards sea. That is the best place I liked at the lighthouse.

The place is amazing for a one-of-a-kind sunset. Definitely something to do in Santorini. It is quite easy to get access to the lighthouse. Be sure to have some sneakers because there's a lot of rocks as you're on the top of a rocky mountain. It can be quickly crowdy but I recommend 100%.

Nice views back on the island, the road is also not too terrible. Less busy than some of the other places where you have multiple coaches waiting to offload and blocking narrow roads like the monetary. Park just after the fish restaurant and walk up. Went to the lighthouse about lunch time then went to the fish place after on a whim. Also not bad and family owned.

I give this a lower rating relative to other places in Santorini.. It's not worth the drive.. Sunset view is good for which I give the 3 stars.. But overall the view when your not on the cliff looking at the cliff is way better than the view from the cliff.. There are a lot of scenic views on your way there which you can't miss.. Parking can be confusing so it s better to walk the last km instead of entering the mud road.. You will know when you get there..
