The Archaeological Museum of Thera is a museum in Fira, Santorini, Greece. It was built in 1960 to replace an older one which had collapsed by the 1956 Amorgos earthquake.
Its collection houses artifacts that begin from Proto-Cycladic marble figurines of the 3rd millennium BC, and continue on to the Classical period.

TERRIBLE place for a tourist to go, especially if you're Asian! The guard treated us like major crooks! As if glaring at us throughout our entire time in the museum isn't enough, he followed us OUT OF THE MUSEUM and lingered around while we were checking out the shops OUTSIDE the museum. This is the WORST experience in Santorini. The museum authorities should apprehend its staff who treat Asian tourists like the worst crooks on the planet.

While the place contains items of archeological importance, it is utterly boring and look like an endless display of broken pottery’s. I think this would be much more interesting with a guide rather than on your own.

You wouldn't have thought it to look at the place, but it is in fact still open. They could at least try to make the place look like it's worth going in

Worth the 2 euro entry fee. Showcases some interesting finds.

It's not a big museum but there are some very good/unique exhibits of Minoan-early Greek fusion culture from the Akrotori archaeological site, particularly the murals and decorative pottery. The rest of the archaeological finds are in an Athens museum. I would give 3.5 stars if available, mainly because written explanations could be improved a lot. What is available is in English and Greek. Sadly there is no museum shop.
