Santorini caldera is a large, mostly submerged caldera, located in the southern Aegean Sea, 120 kilometers north of Crete in Greece. Visible above water is the circular Santorini island group, consisting of Santorini (classic Greek Thera), the main island, Therasia and Aspronisi at the periphery, and the Kameni islands at the center. It has been designated a Decade Volcano.
The caldera measures about 12 by 7 km (7.5 by 4.3 mi), with 300 m (980 ft) high steep cliffs on three sides.

Gorgeous. Some of the best views, lovely local people. Was amazed how honest they were given the place is packed with tourists. Spent a week there, still so many things to do.

Santorini is beautiful place to stay. A perfect blend of ocean, sky and blue. Very good honeymoon spot. Famous for red and black beach. Time well spend with friends and family.

No other island compares with Santorini for those spectacular and uniquely Greek blue and white vistas. The place is just awesome and amazing, cool waters and good scenario especially in October

Beautiful place. I walked up and rode down, but maybe the other way around would have been easier (duh)!

I was in Santorini for only 3 days 3 years ago. That is certainly not enough time to spend there. I stayed in a wonderful hotel full of kind, friendly and helpful staff members. I went on a wonderful 1 day bus tour of the island. Our guide was fantastic. I loved everything about the island and want to go back.

Favorite destination so far. Amazing views, friendly people, beautiful villages and landscapes. Amazing food! Fuel prices are high, tho. And many stray dogs and cats in the cities.

How could I describe Santorini....majestic ? Amazing? Or a facade yet to be unmasked....Santorini has changed over the last few years into the most amazing place that's ever been...to me at least...sometimes it trades it's beauty for buildings and companies but other times those are the stuff that make it beautiful Santorini is a magical place filled with much to explore, see and experience...i hope that you decide to come here to see one of the faces the island has

Santorini is as beautiful of an island as I’ve seen. The people are warm and welcoming. The food is delicious and flavourful and the views...THE VIEWS!!! You can’t take a bad picture in Santorini. Every imaginable picture I had in my head of what portrayed Greece we loved here in Oia, Santorini. Those pictures of the blue domed church are here In Oia the most norther city in Santorini. Absolutely recommend this beautiful island to anyone wanting to taste Greece glory

I loved it! Wish we could’ve stayed longer!! Beautiful city and surrounding landscape! Incredible views!! I do wish there were fewer people doing photo shoots outside our patio area. It made it difficult to re-enter and leave freely.

The villages are nice, but too many people and traffic. The island itself is not very appealing our picturesque outside of Fira or Ia. Would not go back.

Breathtaking views, crystal blue water what else can I say....Go HERE! PRO TIP: If you are American and you want to ride the four wheelers around the island, you need an international drivers license as of April 2018. Some shops don't tell you, but if you get pulled over or in accident you risk a 12,000 Euro fine. If you come in by cruise ship, take the donkeys up if you can 😀

I have enjoyed my last week holiday in Santorini. It's a very peaceful Island and you will enjoy yummy foods and best yoghurt ice-cream at Chill box ICE-CREAM shop. It's a beautiful holiday destination for couples and family.

Incredible island. Wonderful food and locals, but too many people taking selfies, the roads are a bit terrifying, the scuba dive showed little life, the donkey poo and smell up all the main stairs and touristic shops dominating an entire village. It feels like rampant tourism has twisted this sleepy island. It is still possibly the most romantic place on earth. But find a way to get the authentic island, the quiet and rustic place.

Wonderful place is Santorini, Greece. It's a delight to watch the houses so well connected and planned. Magnificent scenic beauty to watch the views. The night vision is more clearer and better to watch as the lights are switched on. The province of Santorini has many such breathtaking views.

Small enough to feel like you can get a sense of the whole island (and feel like your totally disconnected from the world). That Aegean blue is something else. And the caldera is breathtaking, especially with morning light.

Make sure you visit Santorini when you go to Greece. It is magic! An island that is a volcano, what's more dreamy? Make sure to try the naturally sweet local red wine, sweet tomatoes and lava. It is a must. The hotel with its sea views are great and the people are friendly

A dream like island. Amazing to see homes stacked over each other on the cliff edge. Better to visit late evening with sun setting and a dinner table seating outside on the cliff.

Santorini is beautiful. Like a place from a story book. It’s just magical wherever you go on this island. You get to see the stoned streets. The white and blue houses. The food is so fresh here it’s incredible. This is one of my favorite islands in the Greek Isles. An absolute must see!

If you get lucky enough to go to the Greek islands, Santorini is compulsory! It offers everything you can imagine: beautiful beaches, amazing historical villages, food that leaves any foodie blown away and breathless views. Here are 5 tips: 1. Avoid peak times... gets too crazy spring or autumn are the best 2. Go sailing: find a boat that takes you around the island and jump into the water every chance you get 3. Sample every food you can 4. Hire a care and lap the island 5. Learn even the most basic Greek! Everyone appreciated it! Santorini is a tourist hit spot - but planned right, just perfect!

So Santorini is just as beautiful and picturesque as a place can be. Everybody know it so everybody shows up. So this makes Santorini and its quaint towns packed with people which in turn makes Santorini and its quaint towns less attractive. The summer heat can be overwhelming. If you dare to walk the stairs up from the coast to the towns, arm yourself with a beach towel for the sweat. At the top you can find some excellent food, some drinks and some fine shopping. Everything comes at higher price here because, as mentioned before, everybody shows up. You will also find world class picture opportunities.
