The Sorrel–Weed House, or the Francis Sorrel House, is a historic landmark and Savannah Museum located in Savannah, Georgia. It represents one of the finest examples of Greek Revival and Regency architecture in Savannah and was one of the first two homes in the State of Georgia to be made a State Landmark in 1954. At 16,000 square feet, it is also one of the largest houses in the city. The Sorrel-Weed House was first opened to the public in January 1940 by the Society for the Preservation of Savannah Landmarks. It was the Society's first exhibit and was called "The Society for the Preservation of Savannah Landmarks Presents a loan Exhibit of Furniture and Fine Arts 18th and 19th Centuries at the Sorrel-Weed House on Madison Square : Jan-April 1940." This Society later became the Historic Savannah Foundation. The Sorrel-Weed House was opened again to the public in 2005 and conducts Historic Savannah Tours during the day and Haunted Savannah Ghost Tours inside the house every evening. These tours are conducted by The Sorrel-Weed House Museum. It is located at the corner of Bull Street and Harris Street.

Incredible tour! My wife and I went on a late night tour through the city and the house. It was well worth the money! Kelsey was an incredible guide! She really made the tour a great experience. We will do this tour a 100 more times I swear, and she will be the one we ask for!
We loved this tour! We generally do ghost and cemetery tours when we go to new places because you can really learn a lot of local history. The Sorrel Weed House allows you to take a guided tour through a beautiful old house with some VERY interesting history. Our guide was very knowledgeable and open to questions. I recommend this and the walking tour if you're into learning a little about the city you're visiting.
We did the paranormal investigation with a couple of friends. The house was not as active as it had been previously reported, however, I did have an experience in the carriage house. They provided all of the investigative equipment. Your investigation was also posted on a live YouTube video so friends could view your experiences. We will definitely be visiting again when we come back to Savannah.
Did the one hour ghost tour of the house. Overall good. History of the house combined with some ghost stories. Our guide, Kelsey, was very friendly. Sometimes she spoke very fast and was a little difficult to understand. Was a fun experience though.
We did the paranormal inverstigation tour at night. Wanted to do the full 2 hour tour that included a walk around Savannah but didn't have the time. The staff was knowledgeable. Even if you don't believe in ghosts the your was fun!
The ghost tour here was great. I tried to post a video I took of a supposed orb (if you believe in that sort of thing) going across my screen but the review won't allow video so I put 4 screen grabs showing it in different positions. The guide was interesting and informative. Highly recommend when in Savannah.
Great history by day, and spooky stories at night! This is one of the coolest and most haunted houses to check out in Savannah! If you are brave enough check out the paranormal investigation, but brace yourself for the unknown!
We did the early ghost tour with our two kids (9/3) including the walking tour. We all enjoyed it and would recommend it. I'm not crazy about ghost tours, but this one had a great story that taught our son a lot about the history of Savannah. The story alone concerning the house and neighboring square is worth going on the tour. Our guide, Janie, was great!
Just got back from our 9:30pm tour. Anna was our guide, she was fantastic, I loved her soft voice, it made the whole thing creepier!! Definitely worth the money! Take lots of pictures!!! Enjoyed it very much! Will be back in a few years when they open the morgue up in the basement!! Love from Canada
An interesting tour of this "haunted house", we visited for the late evening ghost tour. Was entertaining and gave a good overview of the house. I personally didn't feel anything remotely spooky about the place, you will need to make up your own mind on such matters. Some of my fellow visitors were making claims of orbs and some such on their smartphones. I reckon they had had one too many bourbons in one of the local bars before the tour.
Tour guide was excellent and didn't overdo it. He was knowledgeable and very enthusiastic and friendly. Would have loved to see upstairs in the house, but what we saw we loved and enjoyed the walking tour.
We had 2 Adults, 3 teens and a child. Our guide Janie was awesome and very informative. She spent time with each of my kids questions and helped calm the youngest after a door opened in front of all the girls by explaining to her about nothing was going to hurt her and why. We got some good pictures/videos including what we think were orbs. It was a great time with the family!
Enjoyed the house! Loved our guide! He was wonderful and very knowledgeable! One of the best guides I have come across! Sorry I don't remember his name.
I did the one hour house tour and it was packed with information! It did take closer to 1.5 hours so be mindful to leave extra time in your schedule. Some rooms are hot, stairs are required, and not many areas to sit. I enjoyed learning about all of the history and the spooky stories!
We toured the house during the 7:30pm Ghost Tour and added on the optional walk of "Haunted Savannah". It was the perfect time to go with kids as it began before dark. Janie was an excellent tour guide and storyteller, and the whole group had a great time. Our kids already want to go back for the late night paranormal investigation next time we're in Savannah!
