Had a really good experience here. Especially for the kids. It's also at a great beach location so can easily have a walk on the beach or have a picnic. 👍 Only issue was no real directions to get to the upstairs area if you have a push chair. Found out afterwards that the lift was at the gift shop.
Good value for money when using a 2 for 1 voucher which seem to be available on parking pass tickets and local magazines and groupon so keep your eyes peeled when planning a visit. Restaurant was reasonably priced for sandwich and drinks. They serve Costa Express. Best time to visit seems to be early afternoon to avoid the morning school kids rush mid-week. Plenty of fresh water and marine fish to look at. The under water passage was great for kids.
Absolutely loved this place! It was my first visit here and I was really impressed. It's a relatively small center compared to some of the others out there however I was really impressed with the staff, the layout and the quality in which the animals live. Upon arrival we were greeted by some rather friendly staff who were quick to get us involved with some silly fun little photos, this caught us off guard but was fun and we ended up purchasing them to mark the memories as they were cute! After this we moved on to the first area containing stingrays in a large open top tank, this was really cool as the rays come to the top of the tank almost as if they're showing off for you! I won't spoil the attractions for you but rest assured there are some cool things to see here and some very pretty places too.
Great to visit with children, the food is reasonable and the staff are really helpful. Well laid out and and the various shows during the day are informative. Book online for cheaper tickets, it gets busy in school holidays and is best to go in the afternoon at these times.
The sanctuary was a great day out for our family. The displays are spacious and really informative, and accessible for even young kids. The kids mission quests throughout the sanctuary help keep kids engaged and learning throughout the trip. The cafes and restaurants serve a good range of food that is reasonably priced, and the inclusion of a free round of mini golf was a welcome surprise!
Lovely place. Talks on about the different resident animals during feeding time. Kind and friendly staff. Photo that is taken at the beginning is expensive at the printing desk at the end with no price displays just like everywhere else. Haven't tried the food. Animals look healthy and we'll cared for. Seals in the sanctuary have recently been released so 3 of the 4 recovery areas are cleaned and empty the other one is covered due to a new occupant who is in a bad state and being cared for. Indoors are quite dark to keep the habitat at the right lighting so it's quite a shock when you go outside. Great views of the local beach. The council own the car park which means it's expensive and even badge holders must pay. Free parking is available on the street leading down if you don't mind the steep walk. Connection to the near park with the mini train. Attached mini golf is currently priced into the tickets. Other times it can be discounted. Not to many seagulls. Lots of swifts around though. Otters very cute
Absolute brill. 2 year old Grandaughter loved it.. Penguins Seals Sharks Huge turtle Fantastic. Price wise look at for vouchers in many different foods drinks cereals etc.. £19.99 per adult 2 to 3 hours you'll be in and out.. Way out as always through the gift shop.. ouch.. Great afternoon.. but even with just paying for 1 adult.. buy 1 get 1 free £70 spent.. Good cause.
This is a lovely family attraction & great for young children. However I would urge everyone to NOT stop on the way out for refreshments in the cafe - your coffee will come in SINGLE USE NON RECYCLABLE Costa Coffee cups - you'll see the board in the turtle area that encourages you to not use these items to do your bit for marine conservation, & the drinks for children are also packaged in non-recyclable, mixed material containers, complete with straw.... quite a disgrace & so hypocritical. Take a drink & snack with you, or visit the pub nearby which is very child friendly & does nice food.
We got the tickets for half price. Wouldnt have paid full price. They had some interesting fish. They also had otters, penguins and seals too. It took no more than a hour and half to go around. You can come in and out all day as much as you like but I don't see why you would. I would recommend it if you get the tickets for half price.
The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. Pricey because we didn't prebook online. A great way to spend a winter's afternoon. Animals well cared for by passionate staff.
A lovely day out, even on a cold February. There are lots of sea life to enjoy (especially the seals!) The staff it friendly and the golf course is good fun, if a bit unusual
Loved the place, had such a good time even if it was off season. The staff where really friendly and the walk in enclosure for the penguins sealed the deal, they do amazing work. They have great facilities and a cafe at the end followed by a shop. I found a voucher from the city center info which gave discount. Can't recommend enough! A must if your in the area!
This Sea Life Centre is a wonderful little attraction on the outskirts of the coastal town of Scarborough. Whilst not the biggest in the family, it’s definitely a nice and rather quaint attraction. There is plenty of different sea life animals and fish, as well as Penguins (my personal favourite). There is also a playground, free of charge, as well as a Crazy Golf, which is chargeable during the main season, and free out of season. A lot of the attraction is inside, but some is outside and open to the elements. Pack a coat on a rainy winters day, as even inside, its freezing due to the open nature of the walk through building. All in all, a good attraction. You should be able to locate a discount voucher in local press or on the Internet for cheaper admission.
Great little place to spend a couple of hours. Book online though it's a lot cheaper than on the door. Staff were all great and very helpful. Talks were good. Hannah (part of the team there ) was fab and very informative and my daughter thought she was amazing! Food good and relatively well priced. Mini golf was a little sad but you can't have everything! Worth a visit. Book in about 2 to 2.5hrs to see everything Inc lunch.
