The Phare Circus, first word comes to mind - Unbelievable !! Extremely difficult stunts perform by these artists (may be refer them as athletes, better) very easily. All of the athletes are extremely talented and quite energetic 🙂 , it's a must see show during your visit to Cambodia. Ticket cost was around 18$ for normal class(open seating) arrive little early to get a good seat, higher range of tickets are available too.
Really good performers, enjoyed it very much. Just remember to get your tickets early as they often sell out each day. Only a small stage and with bench seats all around, so every seat has a good view of the acts. Recommend to see it when in Siem Reap.
Impressive. I enjoyed the show very much. We booked the tickets through our hotel and got the cheapest seat options. It is free seating so we got there early to stand in line and got very good seats. There isnt much difference in view from what you get for the tickets that are more expensive. With the more expensive seats you get to sit in front of the AC and get a free water bottle. I would highly recommend this circus show if you are in Siem Reap.
One of my favourite places in the Siem Reap, if not the whole country. The performances and shows at Phare are absolutely breathtaking. They’re funny, they’re energetic and the performers are entertaining and all so talented. I guarantee that you will not regret coming to watch their amazing performance. Definitely one of the top things to do in Cambodia.
This show is worth going to because it supports a worthy cause. They train disadvantaged youth and select the best few to join the performance troupe. I wouldn’t describe it as a classic “circus” - it was more like an acrobatic play of sorts. Venue: It’s a small tent, so you will be able to see the show at a good distance from any class of seats. I’d recommend category B for $28US. While the tent has fans blowing, it can get warm. However, they do provide rattan fans in case you get hot. Show: The actual complexity of the story and artistry of the show can’t be compared to the high production shows we see in first world countries (ie. Cirque) - so it’s would be fair to temper your expectations. Overall: A good night out, enthusiastic performers who give their all - at an affordable price. Usually sold out due to the small size so plan to get tickets a day in advance. Most hotels can arrange it for you.
The best circus show I have seen. Not the typical shows like in Europe or the States. Phare Circus is all about acrobatics, dance and entertainment. There are no animals involved at all, only humans, and that makes it even more special and fun. They got several shows, different story telling, per week. So you could even watch Phare Circus a couple times per week without seeing the same show again. Breathtaking, amazing, impressive...a must see in Siem Reap.
Extremely talented students take to the big tent for a grand old circus. It was a packed house on Saturday night in the off season, so be sure to book ahead through your hotel. The tent is warm but party air conditioned. There is smoke that fills the tent as part of the show so if you are sensitive beware of that. Nearly all seats are good seats. Proceeds go to a great cause.
To be honest, I had no idea what this place was when I went with my friends. But there’s a video explaining the background of the circus, and I was intrigued. And then the show started and my jaw dropped. It’s so creative, so inventive, so joyful, so inspiring. I enjoyed every minute of it! There’s simplicity in the production, which highlights the acrobatic skills of the performers. I appreciated the use of original music by one of the performers: music I enjoyed! Overall, wonderful experience. This is a must for all!
Don’t be scared of the price - it’s worth it! My second favorite thing in Siem Reap after the obligatory temples. Performers are incredibly talented with great energy. Great live music and a good mix of humor and jaw dropping physical ability. Not a world class show, but as good as you can ask for and a cause worth supporting.
One word, breathtaking. Performers are exceptional, very charismatic and occasionally might interact with an audience member in the front rows. There’s a story behind the performance which they interpret in quite a fascinating way. 18$ for the ticket and lasts just over an hour. Shows start at 8 but if there’s a group larger than 3 try and get there at least half an hour prior to ensure you all get seats together. Really is a must see while in Siem Reap!! Think the show we visited was the Eclipse
This production is put on by a Cambodian organization that trains disadvantaged youths for marketable skills in the arts. Performer's skills range from acrobatics to music to stage presence and acting. Extremely talented and fantastic to watch. This should not be missed on a trip to Siem Reap. Support of this production is highly encouraged through donation, purchase of goods or simply by attendance. It gives economic bolstering of the local economy and helps to build a thriving work environment. Coming from the USA, we normally would spend 10 times the ticket cost on a night out easily. These beautiful performers obviously work hard and train hard to accomplish what they do on stage. Very impressed!
If you are looking for a high-end dinning experience in Siem Reap, look no further. The prices are low (Western standards) and the quality is terrific. The waitstaff is very attentive and the atmosphere is much like a high price point US/Euro experience. Beware the portions are large - we only finished 1/2 our entrees.
So amazing!!! I had heard from a friend to check it out but didn't think it would be that good. But on a whim we decided to go see it, so amazing!!! All the performers are beyond talented and the show is very entertaining. It was only 18 bucks a person and a quick tuktuk ride from our hotel (6 mins away!). The arena is small but fun, seating is quick and then the show begins! Do not miss this if you are ever in the Siem reap region!! We loved it and would see it again!
To be honest, we found this top rated excursion/activity by chance. The show, that lasts around 1 hour, is very nice. We enjoyed the Khmer Metal one, which is performed by acrobats (but they have different teams and shows) The show is mostly “acted” with very little spoken parts. Anyway, on two screens, subtitles in English, French and Japanese are available. Inside the circus, there are 3 kind of seats with different prices: A (first three rows and central), B (rows no. 4-5-6 and still central), C (lateral). I recommend to book pretty in advance, above all if you are going to purchase A or B seats as they are often sold-out. For the record, there is also the possibility to have dinner before the show.
If you are in Siem Riep you must go to this show. It is a group of acrobats who perform the most amazing tricks I have ever seen. It will be one of the best 60 minutes of entertainment you will ever see. The circus is part of a school to teach disadvantaged children skills that can help earn them a living. All of the profits go back to the school so it's also a very worthy way to spend your dollars. I can not recommend Phare enough, it will be a week before the smile leaves your face.
If you get C tickets line up early and get a good seat near the stairs. Take a cold drink or icecream in with you. There are fans which is great but still warm. The love and enthusiasm of the performance is enormous. Such an entertaining show and a great background story.
Hard working artists entertained us for over an hour. We had c grade tickets but lined up from 7 pm. We were lucky and got a good seat right near the edge. The pole did block our view. B grade seats would be my suggestion. The restaurant out the front has great food but the service was very slow. 40 minutes for a plate of chips. Cooked meals came out one at time.
The short review: excellent! I really enjoyed the evening's entertainment, it is billed as a circus and was not sure what to expect. It certainly included one traditional circus elements with acrobatics and humour but it was much more than this. There was a an underlying story told with acting, music, acrobatics and humour taking place in an imaginative set with costumes to match. Excellent production as well as performance.
