Peleș Castle (Romanian: Castelul Peleș pronounced [kasˈtelul ˈpeleʃ] (listen)) is a Neo-Renaissance castle in the Carpathian Mountains, near Sinaia, in Prahova County, Romania, on an existing medieval route linking Transylvania and Wallachia, built between 1873 and 1914. Its inauguration was held in 1883. It was constructed for King Carol I.
The complex is northwest of the town of Sinaia, which is 48 kilometres (30 mi) from Brașov and 124 kilometres (77 mi) from Bucharest. In the southeastern Carpathian Mountains, the complex is composed of three monuments: Peleș Castle, Pelișor Castle, and the Foișor Hunting Lodge.

More intimate than the Peles Castle and quieter. No crowds and no queues. Unfortunately, they gave up the audio guide, which would have been helpful when they don't do the guided tours. The explanations should guide you through.

A miniature version of Peleș Castle but a great addition in understanding how the royal family lived.

Great place and not as crowded as Peles

A smaller castle near Peleș made with much more taste. You need to see it if you go by. A few pictures are telling the story.

It is a beautiful castel. So simple, but very beautiful.

If you're at Peles Castle, it's worth taking a few minutes to take a short walk to this nearby castle. The style and size are a great contrast to Peles Castle. Even if you don't have time to visit inside, it's a nice view from outside. And you get a break from the crowds at Peles Castle. When we visited, there was no line to enter Pelisor Castle or to use the restroom.

The room of Queen Mary is a truly special place!

Much quieter and less crowded than the bigger castle. There's no guide, but the exhibits are extremly interesting to see. Especially the thing about Queen Mary's heart being kept here. It's also much cheaper. Definitely recommend.
