Super! We have climbed the mountain in the spring - at the end of April. We did not expect snow on the mountain, so we were wearing inappropriate footwear. I highly recommend getting on. Many people come here. What is also impressive, that it is located very near the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia. I have found the natural scenery extremely beautiful, the waterfall is also impressive.

The Boyana waterfall is a great place to visit and enjoy nature. The hike from the parking to the waterfall is around an hour and a half. The terrain is not that hard and people keep it clean. On the way you will have many chances to stop and take in amazing views of the city. Once at the fall you can sit, light a fire, have something to eat and relax. Weekends can be crowded, so keep that in mind.

One of the greatest wonders near Sofia. Also the road to the waterfall is a good training for the body :) Best to be seen in spring when the waters are high. Ideal for a day out of Sofia.

I like that this is so close to Sofia. It's a relatively easy walk for anyone who's used to trail walks/hikes. Though we are currently in the low water season, the waterfall was still pretty nice to witness (the walk itself is fun). Would love to see it frozen in the winter!

Beautiful waterfall, especially in the winter! Be careful, the road is slippery in the winter, though if you are dedicated, the journey will be worth your while!

A very nice, but surprisingly demanding 90 minute walk up from the trail-head below. Loose terrain in places, fallen trees, mud and slippery rocks and roots near the waterfall itself, and a steep gradient means I would recommend this walk to people in good shape, and that you wear walking boots. Great views of Sofia in the valley below, lovely green forest and a pretty waterfall.

If you're looking for a good, not so heavy hiking trail, the official road to Boyana waterfall is the trail to go.

The waterfall itself isn't something to look forward to but there are 2 paths via which you can get there. The difficult one is really fun, but is not simple and you shouldn't try it with sandals or poor shoes as it can get slippery at times. You shouldn't be superman, but you better be in a decent shape. Worth it. Downward we took the second path which is very boring on it own I must say but it has a nice stop point with a great view. If you're not into hiking, (difficult or just nature long stroll), and you either look for a view or an amazing waterfall, that is not for you! Not far from there there is some Station (tv or radio) where you can get to by car or cab, walk 2 minutes and have an amazing view over the city by kopitoto.

Beautiful and relatively easy to get there waterfall near Sofia. The waterfall itself is really spectacular! No doubt you'll feel amazed by its power, noise and the freshness of the air around it! :)

It is a great experience to visit the Boyana waterfall. Do not underestimate either of the paths. The shorter path is steep and directly follows the river, while the longer path is easier to follow (starting from Boyana neighbourhood). Most of the time you will be surrounded by a magnificent mixed forest with the beech being the dominant specie.

Might be a bit challenging for the inexperienced mountaineers to climb the relatively short distance to the waterfall; however, the effort is more than worth it. Beautiful scenery and the place is surprisingly clean.

A place that is a bit hard to reach. Like 1 hour and a half walk on a crossed terrain. In the end of the walk your way is next to a crystal clear mountain river which you can drink from. And the view of the waterfall is great.

Did this walk on a stormy day, the hike is relatively short but is steep at times . Beautiful bteail though, it passes a few wood bridges and path go through small falls before the main one. We had rain on the way back (beware that the rocks could be slippery) and the fog in the forest made it all eerie ... We had a good time and even with rain and being slow and cautious at times, did it in 3 hours top (to and back).
