Great place in the heart of Sofia. The area is quite large and you can escape from the busy traffic in this park/forest. The lower part that is close to the centre (eagles bridge) is more lively and renovated. While the southern part is more remote and contains less infrastructure.
Great place for sport recreation or just a big nice walk that is practically next to the city centre. There is a big square towards the middle where the people with kids can rent small mini car vehicles for the kids play and there are also some kiosk's with food and drinks, also as one of the restaurant house. Also there is a small lake with two different races of duck that you can feed with bread freely. The benches and street lights that are made in a late 19 century style just give it a very romantic touch!
A huge park with lovely walking trails, monuments and all sorts of things to do and see. Sofia has a large number of really nice parks.
Borisova gradina is the oldest and best known park in Sofia , the capital of Bulgaria . Its construction and arrangement began in 1884 and it is named after Bulgarian Tzar Boris III . The history of the garden embraces three periods under three renowned gardeners. All followed the initial scheme, developing it further and perfecting it instead of making radical changes to the original design.
One of the best places to spend your time when the weather is nice. It is very peaceful, clean and lively. It's a great place for a walk, ride your bike or jog. There is place for the kids to play, so don't hesitate to bring'em along. Highly recommended to visit, if you haven't already!
Big Park, always full with young people during the warm seasons. One of my favorite places, especially on warm summer nights. The park is clean. Do not wander into the dark parts of the park alone at night.
The Best place to hang out or make a walk downtown. Good for skating, tennis, baby walks, dogs, hanging out, summer open air events and an open-air concert place incl food, drinks and table football.
It gives out a cozy feeling during the warm summer days, family friendly and not too loud. It is reminiscent of the sea gardens of Varna and Burgas. A place where teenagers gather to skate. In the coder seasons however it looks deserted and at night it can be dangerous to go alone and should be avoided.
A beautiful large park, with a lot of attractions. The divine no-concrete or asphalt part is my favourite.
It is very good and large park in the center of city. I like that there are many benches. In the park have many people, many monuments and the national futbol stadium.
One of the best and biggest parks in Sofia - you can join crowds of people in the park's central locations, where you have access to food and drink, too, or easily find more private alleys and benches if you would like quieter places. You can picnic there, walk your dog, take out your friends/loved ones for a stroll or just enjoy some time alone in the park's shade.
A nice natural park designed to fit the needs of everybody : from children playgrounds and tennis courts, to wild, hidden places in the forest. My favourite place is the lake with lilies.
Heart of the city. Very nice place where you can go for basically everything..seeing friends, walk your dog, playing outdoor games, just chillin..
Park where you can do everything - horse riding, eating, visiting rock concerts, just sitting on the grass with your friends. I love it!
A wonderful place for outdoor activities and relax in the heart of the city. Clean, guarded by the police (some of them on horses), well-kept park. Kids love the flowers and the squirrels.
This is the oldest park and one of the largest green areas in Sofia, it has a great location as well. So why am I not giving it five stars? Maintenance is the key word. This used to be one of the most beautiful green places in the city, but way too many trees have been cut down recently and they continue to cut more in the wilder forest area. Some expensive renovations have been made lately and I'd say the result is quite underwhelming - the asphalt covering and the lights in the park are still of poor quality, the number of trees is diminished, there is no general architectural idea for the whole place, so the buildings there look neglected and the temporary constructions are quite tacky with no concept of a style. Moreover there is a problem with security around - it is not uncommon to see groups of aggressive football hooligans in the area and that is totally unacceptable for a park which is supposed to be a calm place for enjoyment and relaxation and is visited by lots of families with small children.
Big garden, green areas. Good for sports or just relaxing. Pets are welcome.
