Stamford is a town in the South Kesteven District in Lincolnshire, England. The population at the 2011 census was 19,701. It was estimated to be 20,645 in 2019. The town has 17th and 18th-century stone buildings, older timber-framed buildings and five medieval parish churches. Stamford is a frequent film location. In 2013 it was rated the best place to live in a survey by The Sunday Times.
The Romans built Ermine Street across what is now Burghley Park and forded the River Welland to the west of Stamford, eventually reaching Lincoln. They also built a town to the north, at Great Casterton on the River Gwash. In AD 61 Boudica followed the Roman legion Legio IX Hispana across the river. The Anglo-Saxons later chose Stamford as their main town, being on a more important river than the Gwash.

I'm giving this 5* for its friendliness, uniqueness and the little coffee shop which is just Great, I don't know how they manage to serve such good food in a small area but they do . Try the poached eggs awesome. I love all the small units too. There's Linda with her sewing center with advise on just about anything and fabulous fabric to buy. And the lady who makes most of her own jewellery and then the man who makes jewellery out of silver spoons. Yes, you heard me right. The latest addition is the man who sells leather belts in any colour you want and sizes. I may visit him for Xmas pressies this year. We are so very lucky to have such a unique unit here in Stamford. I was there yesterday, market day in town and sat with a lady who comes all the way from Kettering. This unit used to be another little cinema in My teenage years and now the upstairs is a theatre. Well done to all those who brought it back to life.

The Corn Exchange Theatre and Corn Exchange Shopping Arcade are 2 conjoined yet quite separate places. They seem to have been muddled in together here. The theatre area has a bar and downstairs area for meals and is used as a party venue. The shopping arcade is on the ground floor next door. It comprises a cafe and eatery also selling icecreams and milkshakes, with several independent shops and display cabinets showcasing art and other lovely things for sale including Stamford merchandise, vintage, recycled art, clothing, cards, beauty products, party emporium, handbags, jewellery and cushions. There is also children's clothing and toys, Fair Trade, leather goods, sewing accessories and vinyl records. Don't miss it as it's a great place with a great atmosphere. Dog and child friendly too!

Love this little theatre. The staff always friendly and helpful. Only problem I find is that it only has on street parking, which can fill up so recommend getting there early.

Very pleasant theatre. Impressive. Only concern is the rake of the auditorium is a little steep. Overall impressive.
