Queen's palace. Good place to visit and walk around. You can visit inside, there is a tour with plenty of detail about the life of the royal family. Impressive rooms and decor. But the most beautiful thing about the castle is the gardens in the back. Have a walk and chill.

It was beautiful quiet place, beautiful no to cold winter. We all love Stockholm in all seasons but that time kids were extra happy to enjoy snow

The palace is very beautiful but there is no audio guide available. So if you didn't book a tour, you get only very little information. Which was a little disappointing to me, since it was quite expensive. The park is huge and very nice. The food at the restaurant is quite good and the prices are fair.

Know what to expect: Compared to other royal castles in Europe you won't get to visit all that much, nor will the display be that extensive. Even with reading all the (English) information tables, you'll be comfortably done within 45 minutes. Add extra time to stroll around the park, and in high season the Chinese palace.

It's easy to go to the palace by metro to Brommaplan station and then catch a bus from there. You will see a sign when you come out of metro. It's a nice to place to walk around. Beautiful palace with extensive garden. It's free to walk outside and in the garden.

This is by no means Versailles in terms of size, but this palace is just as strikingly beautiful, well preserved and maintained. Loved that there was not a long queue to enter and we were also very fortunate to see a ceremonial procession and the changing of the guards in the courtyard. Very enjoyable tour, beautiful paintings, breathtaking architecture - definitely a must see and visit while in Sweden.

Love this place. Good for leisure walk and experience the royal nature around the royal family

I enjoyed the natural environment more than the actual palace, but it's still worth visiting.

I recommend a visit to this palace. it's the official residence for the King & Queen of Sweden. It's accessible by public transport or a short boat journey from Stockholm city. It has beautiful gardens to walk through. It has restaurant's in the grounds and toilets, basically everything the visitor requires is available. Remember to bring your comfortable walking shoes and don't forget to take some bottled water as one will get thirsty walking around the gardens 😉

Very nice place and worth to visit. We enjoyed our visit to Drottningholm. But sad part was that palace was closed and even some part of their garden and we could. It take share of it. Will hopefully visit again later in summer period

One of the best place for outing in Stockholm. It takes almost 20 to 30 minutes from Stockholm Central. During summer it becomes more beautiful.

Beautiful destination if you are visiting Stockholm and you have a couple of free hours. I would strongly recommend getting there by boat if the weather is nice. You can buy boat and entrance tickets together online.

I recommend to buy a combined ticket, the one I got was the palace and the Chinese pavilion, they have different ambience and collections. Both interesting. In warmer season the park is very pleasant.

A beautiful place to visit. Full of history with lots to learn from the guided tours. There are stunning gardens to walk around and you can take a pleasant boat journey to visit here. The on site cafe also offers nice food

Drottningholm Palace has three different parts (Palace, Chinese Pavilion, and Theatre, garden is free) under two different institutions (Palace and Theatre are run separately). I toured all three places and spent more than 5 hours there. (1) I noticed that tour guides were very well-trained. They emphasized different stuff in their tours. So if possible, take multiple tours to learn different stuff. (2) The well-preserved Chinese Pavillion and the baroque theatre are the reason why Drottningholm is a World Heritage. The Chines Pavilion is worth visiting. Cute and quite amusing (if you know Chinese history/culture well and can read Chinese.) (3) On the other hand, the theatre tour is NOT worth it. It is short and dry and you do not get to see the backstage at all! Just watch the video shown at the theatre shop/visitor center. It is better than the tour and it is free!!

The garden was the highlight for me. Probably best seen a nice summer day or in the middle of winter with lots of snow. The castle was your standard 1600s castle with rooms being changed throughout the centuries reflecting that specific period in time. Some really nice portrait paintings as well.

Large royal palace on the outskirts of Stockholm that is worth visiting by boat. Large ornamental gardens, Versailles like, at the rear with lots of space to spread out in. Oldest working theatre, bath house, lake in the grounds. Early visit recommended to avoid the crowds inside the palace.
