Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde (Swedish for Cape Waldemar), is a museum located on Djurgården in central Stockholm. The name is composed of Waldemar, an Old German noble male name, and udde, meaning cape. It is derived from a historical name of the island Djurgården, Valmundsö (see History of Djurgården.)
It was the former home of the Swedish Prince Eugen, who discovered the place in 1892, when he rented a house there for a few days. Seven years later he bought the premises and had a new house designed by the architect Ferdinand Boberg, who also designed Rosenbad (the Prime Minister's Office and the Government Chancellery), and erected 1903–1904.

One of Stockholm's nicest art museum is Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde on the royal island of Djurgården with a marvellous views over the town and the water. There is a big park, the museum and a nice restaurant and coffee shop. There is a great permanent collection as well as several temporary exhibitions. Make sure you take a stroll around the gardens as well as the museum. The easiest way to get there is tram number 7 from Kungsträdgården.

Very crowded, and smaller than I was expecting. But very good art.

Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde is an art museum located at Waldemarsudde (Cape of Waldemar). The castle was built in 1905 and was private residence for the Swedish Prince Eugen.

Beautiful mansion and surroundings. There is a gallery with Nordic mordern art exhibition. The interior of the mansion is decorated with carefully selected flowers. The size of the gallery/mansion is not huge. Two floors were open (first fl as gallery and second fl as interior) and we spent about one hour here in total.

A great place to spend a couple of hours and in beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately the staff is not very uplifting and supportive though.

Very chill and beautiful place. Not as many people as the rest of Djurgården

Definitely worth a visit especially if you are an art lover. It's has a lovely and relaxing atmosphere. The staff are friendly and very helpful. No problems getting here as public transport both bus and tram make it easily accessible to the visitor. The grounds surrounding the museum are beautiful and we'll worth visiting with a mixture of art and horticulture ☺

Lovely place with strong historical foundation. I have visited the exhibition of Sigrid Hjertén twice and we have eaten in the Prince restaurant and seen his home - beautiful paintings and flowers. The Prince Eugene oak sadly is struck by disease this year which makes you wonder about how environmentally well the wood is. Highly recommended to visit!

The most beautiful museum in Stockholm along with Thielska Galleriet. Temporary exhibits are typically good. Incredible views of archipelago. Good cafe (outdoors) and restaurant.
