I didn't realize Taiwan has an interesting and somewhat intriguing hot spring history until I visited this museum. There's plenty of stories about the Japanese introducing the benefits of hot springs to the locals, and how they built and maintained the needed infrastructure. Most of the museum exhibits have English descriptions. The museum is housed in a beautiful colonial-style building amid gardens and hot spring spas. The open air sections of the museum were uncomfortably warm during my visit one summer afternoon and the electric fans didn't help much. Admission is free.
Nice and quite place. If you want to take hot path spring, please remember take your swimsuit.
After taking off your shoes, you can enter for free and enjoy the short visit. Relevant information about the japanese influence on the hot spring culture. Worth a look before having a bath!
Nice building in a splendid location. Only complaint is the insistence on wearing slippers (that don't fit!)
very historical building. good area to walk around, weekend is no good. overly crowded.
