This is Taiwan. It is not China, it is another country. I can feel it. Look at the huge statue of the founder of Taiwan. Two living guardians also

A big area to chill with your friends, family or pets. The memorial hall is beautiful and good for photos. If you are interested in their history, it's free entry so you can go in and have a look.

One of the must-see tourist attractions in Taipei, this memorial to the founding father of the Republic of China occupies a large square with a nice view of Taipei 101. The whole place will only take about 15 minutes to go through - there's a hall with a large statue of Sun Yat-sen, and then a small 'museum' offering details into his life. During the day the place seems to be full of mainland tourists, but in the late afternoon and early evening, young locals come out to practice dance moves - some are very impressive!

Watched changing of the guard, very neat every hour on the hour here get there early to get up front, very crowded. Dr. Sun was the founder of the Republic of China. Very close to the Taipei 101 and lots of good food and shopping.

National Dr. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall is, as its name suggests, here to commemorate the national founding father Dr. Sun Yat Sen. Except for its history-rich story, it is a nice park for city dwellers. Flying Kates are often spotted during the day. People enjoy jogging around the park as well as dog-walking. In the evening, it is also a great spot to take photos of Taipei 101, the most iconic building in Taipei Taiwan, and other buildings around Taipei 101. A lot of tourists like to take pictures here at National Dr. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall.

Historic place. Great to bring the kids and introduce them to one of the great historical figures in Chinese culture. There are also many events taking place here. Check the website to find out. When we were there, they had a painting exhibit of a local painter. Very nice and unexpected.

For those interested in Taiwanese history this is a must see. In fact even if you are not interested in history the architecture is a great place to spend some time. Come for the changing of the guard hourly but stay for the vistas and the gardens.

That's good place to learn Taiwanese history from Dr.Sun Yat Sen.The staffs that I talk to can speak English. You can go by subway and it's not far from Taipei 101 Building. There is Soldier Marching when I arrived but I'm not sure about Soldier March Schedule. There is no entrance fee.If you go to Taiwan and love history you should go here.

A good place to understand a part of Taiwan's history. We arrived at the area at around 3:30 PM, so we tried to enjoy the scenery outside the hall. The place offers a good view of Taipei 101. We went inside the hall and visited the exhibits. It is said that the changing of the guards every hour is an attraction, however, what we witnessed at 5:00 PM was the exit of the guards and the flag retreat. Both were still a great experience.

The Dr Sun Yet Sen Memorial Hall is well worth a visit. No entry charge. Various halls exhibit artifacts from his life. There are also halls exhibiting various genres of art - some contemporary, some more traditional, bit all very interesting. There is also a study hall where research can be done. Every hour, on the hour, there is a ceremony for the changing of the guard at the main entrance. The military precision is amazing and a visit should be timed to incorporate this. There is a buffet restaurant in the basement, somewhat expensive. Also a large and another smaller gift shop selling high quality gifts. The grounds are worth walking around. There is a lake as well. It is a 5 minute walk from exit 4 of the Sun Yet Sun MTR station, so is easily accessible. There is also a state of the art theatre with various cultural productions.

Change of the guards is impressive to see. It takes place every hour till 17.00. The whole place is set in a wide open Park which is worth a visit as well. On the inside several expositions provide background information.

Great place to visit to learn all about Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. You can watch the guard duty switch ceremony that happens every hour during normal work hours. No drinks allowed like most museums. No restaurant options if you are hungry.

If you’re a tourist (especially from China), you may as well go given the paucity of “historical” sites. Sun has earned his place in history despite not actually being in China during the moment of revolution and despite the Republican experiment face planting during his lifetime. Otherwise, it’s just ok as a site.
