The Taipei Confucius Temple (traditional Chinese: 臺北孔子廟; simplified Chinese: 台北孔子庙; pinyin: Táiběi Kǒngzǐ Miào; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tâi-pak-khóng-chú-biō) is a Confucian temple in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan.
The Taipei Confucius Temple was built in 1879 during the Qing era, after Taipeh Prefecture was established in 1875.
This is a representative Confucian Temple. If you've never been to a Chinese temple, this is a good place to see what they are all about. If you've traveled in China or other places with major Chinese temples, then there is nothing here you haven't seen before. But very clean and pleasant with minimal crowds.

Worth visiting if you are in Taipei as it's just a few MRT stops north on the Red line. The building stands on a rather large land and the ancient construction is so very intricate, with many halls dedicated to the various deities, if I may say so. Taiwanese honours Confucius very well indeed.

Ever wondered why Confucius is such a big name? This is the place to find out why. Average sized temple, nice layout and a very large amount of information about the legend himself. Plenty of English translations available, leaflets and videos that detail his life, work, achievements and legacy. If you like learning or just need an hour to kill then this is a pretty good place to pop by.

A quiet and scenic temple away from the urban hustle. Also there is a calligrapher who writes beautiful and complimentary calligraphic cards.
