The Taipei Metro Taipei Zoo Station is a terminus on Wenhu line, Maokong Gondola Line, and the planned Circular Line of the Taipei Metro. It is located in the Wenshan District, Taipei, Taiwan.
This three-level, elevated station features two side platforms and two exits. It is located on Xinguang Rd., Sec. 2. In order to deal with patronage to the zoo, an underground parking lot was constructed. It connects to the Maokong Gondola and Taipei Zoo.

Great place for an outdoor activity. The zoo is more like a park with animals. It is clean, no stinky smells, animals looks healthy and well taken cared of. Map is very useful, and animals are strategically placed for convenience of viewing. The panda house was very nice! Fast food available inside. Water stations for hot and cold water are also available. Toilets are everywhere and it is very clean and no smell! Very very nice place for kids!

A great zoo on a big lush campus. Lots of interesting animals in enclosures that did not evoke too much sadness. Worth a half day. For little ones, the subway ride there is an added bonus. Plan to include the cable car ride as well and it makes for a good full day. Trains/shuttles inside the zoo give everyone a break. Plenty to see. Pack your own lunch as the food options are not great inside the zoo. Very reasonable price.

For the price and the amazing scenery, you just can't get any better than this. It's so cheap to come here, and you can even rent strollers for your kids. the food inside us good and inexpensive as well. the landscape is gorgeous, and the animal exhibits are comprehensive in that each one offers several sections for viewing from different angles and locations so you can see the animal wherever they are in their habitat. and the animals are the liveliest and happiest and healthiest I've seen at any zoo and I've been to the San Diego zoo and many others. It's not often very busy either. This is our favorite zoo.

Overall a good Zoo experience. Some of the animal exhibits could use an upgrade though, they seem too small. Not necessarily like a cage, but probably not enough for what they're keeping. Still it seems that all the animals are healthy and well cared for. The zoo has a lot of quality attestations and is convenient to get around with a good layout and a trolley system for those that need it.

Great selection of animals and organized, clean, and laid out well. A good selection of food for a very reasonable price and the admission fee was super inexpensive. Even vending machines are well priced so don't worry if you forget water. Admission is $60NT per person but bring your ISIC card if you have one for a discount. Good way to spend a casual day in Taipei if you have some extra time

Absolutely fantastic! It is a great experience for people of all ages. There are placards with interesting facts throughout the park. There are many animals in their natural habitats from around the world. There is a lesson for everyone in conservation. One thing to look out for is food locations. There are not many food vendors and the lines are long. Maybe bring your own food or go outside to eat.

Everything is good, shuttle bus is convenient form point to point and its only $5 per ride. Lot of animals in the zoo, too bad that day was a bit sprinkle and make this trip short. Maybe in the nearly future will go visit again. There is a family restaurant if need to grab a bit to eat. In the restaurant is fully around with animal toys, it let you feel like you are actually having meal with real animals. Warning......Kids might go wild.

I love this zoo so much. One of great places in Taipei you should visit. It’s very very very nice place and a best choice for kids and family to come, discover, learn and play. This zoo is very large but extremely clean and without bad smells. Animals looks healthy. I really love Panda house and Penguins house.

Very comprehensive zoo with many exhibits worth seeing. Can be very very crowded though depending on when you go. Almost tripping over kids everywhere you go 😅 The aviary is quite cool since you get to be inside the enclosure with so many interesting birds. Elephants, rhinos, baby hippo and the Taiwan born gorilla look very sad to me. Some pens for the large animals seem too small for them, so they look very sad or scared around all the humans. Monkeys and birds are very happy.

NT60. The cheapest zoo that I had been to in south East Asia! Super value for money. Walking with kids slowly would easily take you a whole day. Dun worry about foods, there's plenty inside there. There's even a Ok Mart inside. I would return with kids again when I am in Taipei.

We enjoyed seeing and learning about different animals. The zoo is huge with many animals and plants. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Ideal place to spend quality time with friends and families.

We spent a lot of time here in Taipei Zoo yet it feels like we weren't able to see all the animals. The animals look like they're all taken care of so it wasn't that saddening to look at them in an enclosed space. There are food and souvenir stores at the entrance but there are also several stalls inside the zoo. Make sure to follow the signs so you won't get lost since the zoo is quite big and confusing. It was my first time seeing a Panda in person so I find it very memorable. Also, you can pay the entrance fee using the MRT card.

This zoo is much larger than I expected. The habitats are much nicer than I have seen in most other zoos and there are good facilities throughout the park. Bring a fan and umbrella to combat the sun, but don't forget your camera either as many of the animals are ones that I've never seen elsewhere. I removed a star since some of the areas aren't maintained very well. Still well worth the visit, especially considering the crazy cheap price (60NT).

Very good zoo. I'm following others tips. Ride the shuttle bus to the end of the zoo and start walking down to the exit. Spent almost 6hours inside, have many food stalls and vending machine. The animals is very healthy and comfortable

Large zoo with a lot of animals, I took some great pics. They have everything from monkeys to lions to wolves, bears, penguins, rhinos, hippos, insects, birds, and the prized pandas. There's also a 5NT per person tram ride that takes you uphill (or downhill) to ease the toughness of a hot and humid day.

The biggest zoo with the biggest number of wildlife I've ever been to. A whole day is what you would need if you were to go through all their exhibits.. Very child friendly place with stroller rentals. Highly recommended for people of all ages!

The best zoo that I have ever been to. It is huge and has a great variety of animals. I have never been here without lots of young school students being here. It makes it even better to watch the kids reactions. Now that I have my own little one its even better than before. I have come to this zoo for 15 years and it maintains its quality. Good gifts for family back home, has 7-11 and a McDonalds.

Got there for 1.30pm. Bad idea as the heat is up. That said the zoo was busy. I think some animals choose to stay undercover in the afternoon. Next week I'll try a morning visit. Very clean park I have to say. Worth a visit.

One of the most beautiful zoos I had to chance to visit and you can see the great panda. All the animals here look great and have here a huge space to live in. Also other entertainment is great, like long cable gondola car or car train and much more. All this for really good price. If you have that chance to go here definitely go!
Pauli Keipi | Jul 10, 2018
Love it! Pros: +Rentable baby strollers for 50 NT (+1000 deposit which will be returned). +McDonald’s and 7/11 inside. +All the animals you can think of +A mini train to take you to the end of the zoo and walk back +Super cheap Cons: -Crowds of people during busy hours (recommended to arrive on opening)

It's my first time to see a real 🐼 Panda! They are so cute and adorable. Riding the cable car and going to this zoo is really a great experience. It's big, spacious and organize. A good place to visit and a good source of a field trip educational tour for kids and young at heart! It is also accessible to the mrt.

The Taipei Zoo is far nicer than I expected. And to top it off, it only costs 60 NT$ (about 2 US$) so you can go for just an hour or two without feeling you have to see everything. You can come back every day just to see the pandas repeatedly. The zoo rents children's strollers (I think it's a 50 NT$ fee and a 1000 deposit), so this is a great place to bring kids. Beware that the zoo is in a valley snaking up into the mountainside, so it's very long zoo with a fair elevation gain from one end to the other. There is a little shuttle bus inside the zoo, and the Maokong Gondola has a stop at each end of the zoo, so if you don't walk well, getting one of those to the top and walking downhill might be best.

Quite well laid out but mostly on a hillside, would advise taking the train to the top and walking down through the exhibits. Starting to become a little dated and could do with a bit of a refresh. Well worth spending the day there, but take an umbrella, if not for protection from the sun but also to keep you dry during one of the unexpected downpours that seem to come without warning.

Largest zoo I have been too where we spent the entire day just walking around to see the different exhibits. Plenty of resting stops with food and beverages to help you replenish your thirst. We had walked the most that day at over 25k steps so be prepared to rest. The panda had it's own exhibit indoors as well as the penguins. It was nice and chilly in there.
