Another amazing time and J. Luis was a great surf guide/instructor! Thanks again for a great trip. Pura vida, my friends!
Incredible view. UPDATE: the food & beverage director appropriately dealt with the staff who had refused to return my change to me and invited me back to the establishment for a drink on the house. I won’t be able to make it back there but the effort is certainly redeeming.
I had an amazing time at the surf camp. The camp and accompanying restaurants and brewery satisfy most all your needs. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the surf instructors are the best in the area (the lifeguard stand is comforting), and I witnessed the most breathtaking sunsets while sipping on their generously portioned happy hour drinks. I’ll definitely be back.
Had an amazing week at the Women's Surf Retreat. Our instructors were all amazing. The food was delicious, the wine didn't stop and neither did the smiles.
My daughter loved her surf lessons. The instructors spoke good enough english to communicate with a 7 year old gringo. She got up on the second try. :) They were conscientious about only having her with other kids, but no other kids signed up, so private lesson!!
I just got back from wrsc. I wish i could stay forever. I can't say enough good things about this place. I have been to tamarindo 3 times. The first time i stayed at wrsc, the second time was at the diria, and the third time was back at wrsc. The reason i went back with wrsc is that they have the system down. They pick you up at the airport, provide transportation to all the local surf spots, including witch's and ollies. I stayed at pueblo dorado this time. At first i thought i was getting the short end of the stick since the beachfront location was booked solid. However after the first day i realized that i actually liked the tranquility of pueblo dorado. The pool is bigger, the rooms are quieter, they have fat tire bikes that are free to check out, and endless free costa rican coffee. I actually enjoyed the 2 minute walk to eat at joe's for my free breakfast, which they honor all day long, even if you leave to surf at 6 am and return at 11. Btw howler monkeys will be in the trees waking you up at 5 am. But thats costa rica everywhere ive been. I wear earplugs anyway so it doesnt matter. Most of the days we were leaving at 6 to surf anyway. Depended on tide and wind. They take you to the surf when it's best so you dont need to think about it. I was stoked david was still there. He's rad. I just met mariano this time, and he went out of his way to arrange everything for me- on point. Insider tip-ask about the front desk gal doing massage. It will save you $30. She's really good and they charge $85 minimum in town. After surfing 6 hours a day it helps to recover. Nice work joe. The owner is a smart guy that went to uc san diego, and he has been running this place well for many years, hence the reason for my return. Pura vida.
Super lovely plug and play trip option. We stayed for a week (in Pueblo Dorado, the sister hotel down the street) and would love to return. Everything is well-organized and thought out. Delicious free breakfast daily, good music, amazing and lovely instructors, helpful seminars, and beautiful accommodations. I didn’t worry about a thing while on this trip, and would recommend this place to anyone - older, younger or family, no one is out of place. 🤘🏻
Great craft beer in a country where it’s hard to find that kind of thing. Great location and some fun night life with live music.
