Straits Quay is a shopping mall-cum-marina in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is located at Seri Tanjung Pinang, a newly developed township that sits on reclaimed land within the George Town suburb of Tanjung Tokong. Opened in 2010, the seaside mall also consists of a marina designed for small recreational vessels, as well as a convention centre.

Parking problem: 1) If your car is big, you have to be extra careful & cautious when you park your car inside their indoor car park. This is because the driveways are narrow (expecially drive up & down the ramps, you will see a lot of the black paint stains on the wall, I also one of the careless driver who “contributed” to it, my car did scratch on the wall once when driving down the ramp). Besides, the parking spaces between each car are tide & small as well. So sometimes your car may get some scratches when the passenger or driver of the car who park next to your car open car door to get out & in. 2) If you park at their outdoor car park, there’re possibilities of hit & run happen since there’re no CCTV installed. I was the unlucky one whose car has been hit & run while parking there this afternoon. 3) Don’t ever think of park along the toadside. The police traffic will randomly come to give summons to those who park along the roadside. It’s expensive though. So far within these 4-5 years, I got two tickets from them. I sincerely hope they can do something to at least improve the situation there. Since my favourite restaurant is over there and I’ll have to go there very often.
i went there while an Australian company comes for yacht Sales awesome looking good view of sea side good starbucks
A nice modern mall to shop, breakfast, lunch or dine with family and friends. Or relax with a cuppa at Starbucks and The Coffee Bean. Or simply to check out the beautiful waterfront and marina behind the mall and various eateries. The Mall owners should promote it even more to attract more customers.
Laid back, relaxing and different from most malls. There are couple restaurant bars which I find it the perfect spot for a Saturday night. Love the atmosphere. It is perfect for a stroll during morning or night
Nang! Million times. Took me a while for gripping my composure that this is Malaysia. This is actually Penang and not overseas. My problem and the problem of people who always are under the impression that sea across Malaysian borders are more bluish and greener. You can’t blame me either. No one, none has spoken about Straits Quay. In fact, I knew zero percent on Straits Quay until I came over. Shopping mall and exclusive condo living on the floors atop, Straits Quay is sincerely the breather to Penang sea. Wah! Those super-duper boats are not mine. I can't afford by the way. Perhaps the only option for me will be piggy-backing any of the rich and famed Malaysians or foreigners for a ride in their boats. Straits Quay I was told is an enlivening watering hole and food seventh heaven once the sun goes down. Daytime and on weekdays, sure, you can meal at any of the eateries in the mall, but outside, choices are limited. In fact, I had to opt between the only two, side by side eateries at this hour. 3.00pm. That said, to those of you who hate being amongst the night crowd, day time is the better option for your alone time in, in Straits Quay. No rush, no hustle and bustle, and at your whims and fancy.
A good place to visit if you want to enjoy nice sea view in.the evening. Many western food restaurants and bars available. Parking is convenient too.
Straits Quay Marina Mall is a beautiful and scenic place by the seaside. There are some nice and good Eateries and restaurants for their tasty and delicious food. Not much Shopping as there are few. Boutiques for clothes and accessories and shoes like Converse and Adidas. But there is a nice Supermarket for your groceries nearby. What I love is the sidewalks by the sea where children can cycle with their bicycles and people can stroll along by the seaside
Straits Quay mall is small and big as the same time. Is just 2 floors of shop. Above that is luxury residential. But the area is huge as is also the luxury marina harbor of Penang. Is a lot of restaurants. The mall is very quiet, I mean not busy, out of week-ends and some celebration and happening. Out of an handle (a dozen) of flagship, most of the shops doesn't survive over a couple of years.
A very nice place to visit. Pretty good, clean, nice to walk around. But, things a bit expensive because it is a high end place. Many places to eat and worth mentioning the bathroom is very clean. I think the parking fees are the cheapest in Penang.
Again another good massage, this is my second massage in five days, at the Thai Odyssey. Going for my third. Why? Because the masseuse knows where all the knots are and does her best to ease the tightness. Fyi I work in front of the PC daily hence the poor posture and tight muscles. The marina is great with activities and restaurants. Love the fact you can walk your dog there. And the dog owners I met there were good too, cleaning up after their pooches.
