Tirana or Tiranë (UK: (listen) tih-RAH-nə, US: tə-RAH-nə, Albanian pronunciation: [tiˈɾana] or [tiˈɾanə]; Gheg Albanian: Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Due to its location at the Plain of Tirana and the close proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the city is particularly influenced by a Mediterranean seasonal climate. It is among the wettest and sunniest cities in Europe, with 2,544 hours of sun per year.

3. Aloe vera Go to drugstore and takes shampoo with aloe vera and you will see improvement in your hair. 4. Baking soda Baking soda reduces overactive fungi that can cause dandruff. Your hair may get dried out at first, but after a few weeks your scalp will start producing natural oils. 5. Aspirin Aspirin contains the same active ingredient as many medicated dandruff shampoos. Keep flaking in check by crushing two aspirins to a fine powder and adding it to the normal amount of shampoo you use each time you wash your hair. Leave the mixture on your hair for 1-2 minutes, then wash again with plain shampoo. 6. Salt Take a saltshaker and shake some salt onto your dry scalp. Then work it through your hair, giving your scalp a massage.

History of the rise and fall off communism in Albania. Interesting, relevant but quite worrying. The way everything is displayed is boring. The name is misleading, there is no art.

Well-structured exhibition on Enver Hoxha’s reign of terror, great idea to repurpose one of the many bunkers built at the orders of a lunatic. This particular bunker was used to house senior party officials. There were some egregious typos and grammar mistakes in the English information plaques. Ticket price: EUR 4.

A little eerie, but well worth the trip through the underground bunker that virtually no one in Albania new existed before the fall of Communism. You’ll see how the Albanian secret police (Sigurimi) worked to spy on and control the Albanian people. You will also see how the government intended to escape and hide out in the event of an attack. A sight you must see if you are in Tirana.

Another attractive site of Tirana. It brinks back some of the past stories.
