Sunshine City (サンシャインシティ, Sanshain Shiti) is a building complex located in East Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. It has the 240-metre tall Sunshine 60 skyscraper at its centre. Sunshine City consists of four buildings: Sunshine 60, the main and tallest building, which includes corporate offices as well as restaurants; the Prince Hotel; the World Import Mart; and the Bunka Kaikan building. The complex sits on land that was once occupied by Sugamo Prison.
The lower floors of the complex cater toward passerby and customers with a large shopping mall and numerous restaurants, while the higher floors tend to include corporate offices and hotel rooms. The complex, which was opened in 1978, contains numerous attractions including an observatory (observation deck) located at the top of Sunshine 60 called Sky Circus, the Ancient Orient Museum, an aquarium, a planetarium, the Prince Hotel, a Namco-run indoor amusement park, a convention centre, and a theatre.
Let's be honest. If you're an adult coming here, it's because you love anime. If you are over the age of 12, this is not the place for you. For 8,000Y it's not pricy, and you can take a bunch of fun pictures. Aside from that, this is basically for kids, and there are a bunch of things for them to do. Also, the food is limited and I wouldn't recommend spending money on anything that isn't a snack of some sort. If you want a real meal, eat before or after.

I went with my wife, we are huge Anime and fans. The inside was smaller than I thought. It's inside of a mall. The food was not expensive and tasted great. It has some long wait times. The staff are very helpful if you only know English. You get a discount if you bring your passport. It leans more toward young teenagers and kids but if your a fan of Jump Animes you should have no problem enjoying yourself!

Anime lovers will love this...and it’s definitely worth the price for unlimited ride/attraction admission...food is also reasonably priced for what seems to be a theme park even though I didn’t eat anything..flying nimbus was really fun!!! Also you get a special discount if you show your passport : )

Unlimited Evening pass after 5 pm costs less and the attractions are fun, well thought out way beyond being gimmicky, and super worth it for fans of DBZ, One Piece and Naruto. Food portion size and food at the food court are meh.
