I visited this extremely large park during the shoulder season in end of August 2017. It's a very pleasant place. There's a museum, zoo, and large open spaces to hold festivals and events (there's one celebrating cultures of Nepal when I came). You can easily spend the whole first half of the day here. Don't be afraid to lose your way. Map and signs are plentiful, as is almost anywhere else in Japan.

This place is full of scenic beauty and art. You get a glimpse of both natural and man made scenery. The lights in the evening give a splendid aura. The park attracts international tourists and is a great place to take portraits and nature photographs. The park is so huge that it is not possible to see everything in one day.

Whatever you are into, you will find something of interest in this park. As well as beautiful gardens and temples, there are also zoo, museums and art galleries. Allow yourself a full day here to see everything. The zoo was a little bit disappointing with a quite a few animals missing but it only cost 600 yen (as of 2018) to get in so it doesn't matter if you don't see a lot and they do have pandas.

Quite a big park with lots of things to do, a zoo, many museums, street food, shrines and a temple. There was also a special garden that was open but required an fee to get in. The park was nicely lit up in the evening. There are maps everywhere so its easy to find where you want to go and the park has bathrooms.

Beautiful large park, perfect for a relaxing walk away from the busy streets. You'll find lovely temples, museums, and tree lined sidewalks. Highly recommend visiting!

We came to Ueno Park for the cherry blossom, and it did not disappoint. The park was practically arrayed in sakuras everywhere. We enjoyed taking lots of photos, watching others enjoyed the sceneries and taking pictures. We saw a lot of locals putting down mats and enjoying teas and snacks to enjoy the sights. Lovely place.

Very popular public park in Tokyo especially in cherry blossom season. It is very crowded but nice to visit. Ueno zoo is nearby.

Nice park to have a stroll. Walk around the lake, where people are renting sea-bicycles to enjoy a sunny day. There is also a small bazaar close to the lake and the shrine, with street vendors and local food.

A very good place for family outing. The garden is nice for the kid to run around. The museums are great for the older children.

Come during cherry blossom season! Huge festival in the park with food and people from all around the world. Absolutely stunned by the amount of folks in the park during the day on a Tuesday. Just enjoying.

Small park with a lot of place to sit with tranquility and rest. There are multiple areas to view. Mostly what you hear is birds singing and few people walking. Make sure that if you smoke, smoke in the designated area. Japan is very strict with the rule so please follow and respect their ethics.

Popular, crowded place in cherry blossom festival. I was there in the morning of the late winter. Few people was in the park, it was very peaceful place for relaxation. I got tons of photos here with the snowy background. It seems wonderful in cherry blossom festival.

So many museums and things to see in one spot! If you're a foreigner buy the "Ueno Passport" at the National Museum to get entry into everything for only 1500 yen. Saves a ton of money. Might take two days to go through all of the museums and shrines. Was our most productive, educational destination in Tokyo.

Efforts have been made to point disabled visitors towards the "barrier free route" but this encompasses only a small fraction of the park. There is not much to see or do in these locations and the park is a bit of a let-down as a result.

One of THE most popular park in Japan to view cherry blossoms during the Sakura season because if its easy access from Ueno Station. Consequently it can become unbelievably crowded during that period. Otherwise, it's a nice park to stroll around especially in the morning.

Beautiful park to see the cherry blossom. Thousand of trees with cherry blossom was breathtaking. However too crowded with people even on weekdays. You can choose to sit on the floor under the tree and have your picnic. Walked to the pond area to have a better view of cherry blossom and less crowded. Beautiful weather and free admission.. enjoy it

Great park with many things to do and visit. There are zoo, museums (more than one), big pond, many temples, fountain, and of course place to sit down and relax. Best for lunch picnic with family

Beautiful park with lots to see. Take your time and stroll through the whole park. There are a couple of museums inside and in the outskirts of the park. We didn't have the time, but you aren't in a hurry then there's even for you to see :)

You can spend a whole full day in this place. The park is very big with various activities around the park such as zoo and museum. During weekend usually there are special event where you can enjoy your day. The park is also clean and you can enjoy a very good scenery.
