This was such a fun experience. These monkeys are not shy and they WILL jump on you if you have food. Not for the faint of heart. ;) Great photo ops with the monkeys. There are also beautiful trees here! We ran into some folks that said they went here early in the morning when it wasn't busy... They got ambushed by the monkeys because there wasn't anyone else there!! They said the monkeys were very aggressive. So this may be the only place you'll want to visit DURING PEAK hours.

So much fun! We went fairly early to beat the crowds. The monkeys have a continuous supply of sweet potato to eat so they are never desperately hungry but they will open your bag if you have food(even if it’s in a sealed package) and they loveeeee bananas! My friend had a granola bar in his bag, they unzipped his bag, found the bar and ate it 😂. They will also grab your water and drink it. All in all I had a wonderful time watching the monkeys chase each other (and humans). Highly recommend

Amazing place, you can genuinely walk amongst the monkeys in their home. Be sure to have all valuables in a closed not easily openable bag, as the monkeys will steal your stuff and only give it back if you have food. There are people situated throughout the forest selling bananas which you can feed to the monkeys. Lots of fun, but do be careful as there is no oversight or protection regarding interaction with the monkeys, and they can be very cheeky.

A place with full oh 🐒 monkey's..😍😍😍 good place to visit. Two wheeler and four wheeler parking also available with free and chargeable. I think first two hours of parking free itssems. Sign boards are available to visit places and track the way. Two entrance is available. You can buy tickets at both entrance. An some entrance is only for exit. Do not feed to monkey's. Sometimes it will try to grab from you. So careful with that.if you have any bag or plastic just hid from the monkey. You can take photo also with monkey's and with help of working people from there. All good. 😀😀

The sacred monkey Forest Sanctuary is a wonderful place for everyone to visit. The cost of entrance I believe is $5 and it is more than worth it. The monkeys are free to roam in the sanctuary you are not encouraged to touch them but they are welcome to interact with you. There is beautiful scenery, temples and walking paths. You can buy bananas for very cheap and they will walk up you to grab it. They might even enjoy the banana while sitting on your shoulder :-)

It wasn't crowded. Maybe because we went on the week day. It was a hot day outside. But didn't feel the heat once we entered the park. It was mostly covered with canopies of trees. Well maintained. The monkeys seems to be not afraid of people so they tend to come closer if you offer them food. Good place to take pictures.

This is such a magical and exciting place unlike any other! It was so beautiful and the monkeys are so entertaining and fun to watch. Not only do you get to experience them monkeying around but you get to interact and feed them as well. It was so much fun and an unforgettable experience. The workers were well trained at the monkeys responded well to their commands. The area was clean and so awesome to explore its beauty and greenery. I cannot wait to go back!

Very well maintain forest for monkey. Keep all belongings careful like spec, hat and food material otherwise monkey take away from you. Don't give any food to them. If possible please carry sweet corn for them and carry in your hand, please hold your arm upper side then monkey come on your head and eat corn easily. Don't scared at that time when monkey on your head. Mainly monkey not do anything with general people, not hazard for people.

Beautiful place directly in the jungle! the monkeys really try to steal everything but if you are careful nothing happens. sometimes they jump on your back to grab your backpack. take care! but on the other side you can easily pass them. the staff is nice too and can help you to get your stolen items back. entrance fee for adults is 50k which is very fair in my opinion!
Meike Dorfneravr. 2, 2018
It was cool to see so many monkeys, but I didn't find it very exciting since it was so easy to see them. I was hoping for a bit more playfulness out of the monkeys but this wasn't case today. Entry is 50,000 for adult entry. I would recommend coming here if you an easy photo op with some monkeys just don't expect them to be jumping around like they do in the wild.

Best attraction in the world. I love my monkeys and this is the best zoo I have had the pleasure of visiting. To experience these monkeys roam around and interact with each other and my fellow holiday makers, is a dream for me. This tourist attraction, is a monkey lovers paradise but aside from the furry, long tailed residents, this forest is also a beautiful park that transforms a grown women on her honeymoon, into an excitable child, exploring the nooks and cranny's, paths and walkways, transitioning into her very own wonderland of jungle book creativity. In my complete element, feeding the small monkey the bananas was my highlight, despite it being covered in monkey wee. If at all possible, I would quite happily pack up my bags and become a real life Mowgli.

Well organised tourist attention. From a drivers perspective there is very straightforward parking and the parking fees are included in the ticket. Though it’s best to approach from gate 1 and not gate 3 as gate 3 have very limited parking. The forest itself was interesting in terms of what Bali is doing to help preserve the species of monkey, but there were a LOT of tourists. To be expected. We did get some serene moments in places within the conservation zone. Also, say hi to Nelson the blind monkey who has his own enclosure.

Monkeys. What more do I need to say? Let me state.. yes they can be aggressive. But if you are wearing anything that looks edible , don’t. Wear basic colors... bags fully zipped, hands never clenched in a fist as if you are concealing anything and you’re good to go. We had one jump on us, let us check us out and it got bored and hopped off. We saw one rip baby wipes from some ladies polka dot bag and then 40 monkeys had a field day with them. Also.. water botttles.. don’t show them. They know how to unscrew the caps and go to town so they will go after them too. They are smart... we evolved from them. So if you use your upgraded brain power, this will be as enjoyable as it was for us. The park offers gorgeous views and a plethora of monkeys doing monkey things. We spent hours here but you could easily do it in an hour if you were pressed for time.

I love the beautiful setting of the forest and temple. It's a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Be respectful of the guidelines and posted signs and you'll have a great time. Don't bring in any kinds of bags, don't put your hands in your pockets and don't try to touch the monkeys. If they came up to you and touch or crawl on to you, just stay calm and do not touch them back. The temple grounds are gorgeous. Remember this is a sacred sight.

My favorite excursion of my whole trip in Bali! The whole premises are beautiful! Our excellent driver accompanied us and showed us around. There is a beautiful temple on site. The monkeys are very friendly but mischievous. They will steal things left unattended so be careful with your belongings! There are signs regarding rules of conduct with the monkeys so please pay attention to them and DON'T LITTER! For those of you who are more sensitive to the sun this is a great spot because it is very lush and full of trees which provide plenty of shade.
Stacie DaPontemai 15, 2018
Of course the monkeys are adorable, and the whole place is really interesting and relaxing to walk around in. Lots of trees and stone steps and statues and little rivers. Pretty expensive but I think (?) it goes to a good cause -- hopefully helping the monkeys and supporting the city. Employees keep a good eye out to make sure that interactions between monkeys and people are safe for the monkeys and safe for the people.
Sadie Parkerjuin 2, 2018
Such a fun and exciting experience. Being up close and personal with the monkeys should be visited by everyone. The keepers were strict but fair with the naughty creatures and it's clear the (most) of them have a soft spot for the curious tourists and will gladly help them get the souvenir shots they want. Good day out.

A cool place to take a walk and look at the monkeys. Don’t try to touch or feed them. They will jump on you and try to take your things. Keep your bags closed and do not try to go in it because they will know and will try to get your belongings. The guards are very observant and warn the monkeys off. It feels like the monkeys are in their natural habitat. They have the freedom to come and go as they please.
Hollie Morganjuil. 13, 2018
Secure your belongings. The monkeys here are actually more friendly and less courageous to attempt to take your things than elsewhere, but the young ones are definitely curious and will climb on you if they see something. Lock your back pack if you bring one, as some will try to get onto you and open it. Don't be afraid though, they are not aggressive. Lots of fun, definitely worth the small entrance fee (50k).
Steven McLaughlinjuil. 11, 2018
Do not miss this experience. The monkeys live freely in this sanctuary which is in itself very beautiful. They now offer an art installation which was very pleasant, so don't miss out and be sure to support it by maybe buying a beautiful postcard for the people back home. You can just walk around or have monkeys climb on you to eat from your hand, as well has shake hands and pet a blind monkey. The place is pretty big so you will be there for a while at least.
Daniel Älvenstrandjuil. 17, 2018
So it costs $5 to get in, but it's really lovely when you get inside, the staff are everywhere ensuring the monkeys are well behaved. The staff are really friendly and happy to take pics for you etc. I really thought it was worth the cost. Plus there are toilets inside and it's quite a nice ambiance to walk around. Be careful of the monkeys though - they do try to steal anything they can and will climb on you :)

Be careful of the monkeys though - they do try to steal anything they can and will climb on you :)
