Palazzo Correa, also known as Casa Correa, Correa de Sousa Palace or Palazzo Hompesch, was a 17th-century palace in Valletta, Malta, located in Old Bakery Street. It was built on the designs to architect Carlo Gimach in the Mannerist style, the first in Valletta and very unusual to the period.
It was built in 1689 by Fra Antonio Correa de Sousa, the Balì of Leça, as a residence. It was sold to the Manoel Foundation in 1732, and it was let to Grand Master Ferdinand von Hompesch zu Bolheim from 1787 to 1798. The palace hosted the French minister in Malta, General Vial, during the Peace of Amiens between 1802 and 1803.

My fiancée and I recently stayed at Casa Ellul. We had a great stay. The hotel is well located in Valletta which is a stunning part of Malta. Having spent a lot of time on the island, this is one of the nicest hotels in the country. It has been beautifully designed and the rooms are modern but classic. The restaurant breakfast was amazing, and the homemade cakes are a real treat. Most importantly the staff are polite, helpful and genuinely lovely people. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something special in Malta. Bravo!

Hands down the best hotel I've stayed in on the Maltese islands - I hope I'll have the opportunity to stay here again someday! Rooms are extremely well finished and the hot tubs on the terraces of suite 7 and 8 are a superb addition; genuinely hot, and amazing to relax in after a hard day's marathon running (we visited for the Malta Marathon). Some reviews say rooms are small but we found suite 7 to be more than adequate and larger than expected. The views over the Valletta roof tops are incredible. Breakfast is basically 'a la carte', but served quickly and very competently. The quality is extremely high and it's definitely the nicest breakfast I've ever had on Malta. The staff here are brilliant; very friendly and soon treat you as a friend. For me this makes the difference between a good experience and an amazing experience. All in all Casa Ellul is easy to recommend. It's pricey, but absolutely worth it. And yes, the rooms really do look as good as they look in the pictures!

I cannot imagine a better experience. It's in a great location in Valletta close to everything. The whole staff is awesome. Deborah, Silvia, Sarah, and the rest are attentive and stellar. The chefs do amazing work. The rooms are modern, clean, and very comfortable. It's an urban boutique hotel so rooms are compact.
