A must see. The cathedral offers an overwhelmingly decorated experience with lots of gold and outstanding baroque imagery. - Having to pay 10 euros to get in is not acceptable. Take Notre-Dame as an example, completely free. Want to see the Museum? Pay 6€. - no free movement in the ship - floor plates are partly covered - the Italian chapel completely blocked by a replica of the Shroud of Turin - Who had the idea of renovating the Grandmasters crypt and the Museum in 2018?

Without a doubt the most impressive Cathedral I've ever seen. When first entering it seems the interior is "simply" richly decorated with marble, statues and gold ornaments. But after following the exquisite, and complementary, audio tour it becomes that every chapel, every ornament even, has been placed with meaning. The decorations are carefully thought through and refer to the many grand masters of the Knights order that have ruled throughout the centuries. There's an impressive amount of detail and history tukked away in this grandiose place of worship. Definitely a must see when visiting Valletta.

Beautiful Cathedral built by the Knights of St John. Has the restored Caravagio "the Beheading of John the Baptist " on display in it's ornate surround. The cathedral houses the chapels of the various nationalities of the order , each uniquely decorated and many containing the relics of saints within the individual alters. A visit would see you through a fascinating 2hrs with live restorations in progress. And for just €10 pp including an audio guide.

As far as cathedrals go, this is the most beautiful I've seen by far. The Knights have done more here than anything we have seen on the European mainland or in the UK. We almost missed seeing this. Worth prioritizing on your visit to Malta. Do keep in mind that this attraction closes early sometimes. Closed by 12 on the day we visited.

Austere on the outside and hiding a real treasure chest on the inside. This church is exquisitely decorated with pairings by Caravaggio and Preti... and the pavement is another work of art. A truly must see especially for any art enthusiast.

Beautiful! Get away from all the touristy streets and explore the narrow streets. Take a walk around the city wall and enjoy the ocean view.

If you don't do anything else while in Valletta but walk around and take in the magical city, you must visit the Co-Cathedral of St John the Baptist. It is one of the elaborately decorated and beautiful churches I have ever been in, rivaling St. Peters in Rome. There is an admission fee to visit as a tourist, but the funds are used to help maintain the build and the fantastic works of art.

A true gem built by the Knights of St. John full of works of art and tapestries, world famous for the Caravaggio's Beheading of St. John. A must see for everyone visiting Valletta. Rest assured that you won't be disappointed.

There is no other way to describe this building than as a masterpiece! Thank goodness that money could once get you closer to heaven because otherwise, such splendour could never have been achieved! Everything about it is lavish! The audio guide is in depth and very thorough with the details of each spectacle your eyes connect with

St John’s Co-Cathedral is a gem of Baroque art and architecture. It was built as the conventual church for the Knights of St John. The Grand Masters and several knights donated gifts of high artistic value and made enormous contributions to enrich it with only the best works of art. This church is till this very day an important shrine and a sacred place of worship. It is also a venue for cultural events.

Caravaggio's magnificent masterpiece inside! This seemingly unpretentious co-cathedral is home to some amazing art works, including the above mentioned early produced Caravaggio. It is worth every single minute you put aside in your visit to Malta in order to contemplate it! Take your time and hope for a moment when the tourist lines are not too thick... Late afternoons seem to be the best choice, I guess... So do whatever you wish to do in Malta and come back to this place after four pm. You'll have Caravaggio all for yourself, believe me... ;)

Great place for people, who love love history and arts. Come here, explore and enjoy beautiful tapestries collection and Caravaggio masterpieces. When you get there, you won't want to go out, I am sure.

A must visit. Ornate details on every surface, and a special chapel dedicated to the works of Caravaggio. Worth the 10€ entrance fee.

Very beautiful sacred building that has an enormous history. It is very well detailed and had handheld devices in many languages explaining all the various chapels and backgrounds to paintings and statues of the different religious icons and Grand Masters of Malta. A very educational visit.

10€ entrance fee, no need to dress modestly, they have paper shawls you can borrow to cover yourself. Be sure to plan at least an hour here, we went in At 3:30 and was kicked out by 4:15 and felt rushed. The audio guide was very boring, but it’s better than nothing.
