Renaissance art with a very very heavy emphasis on paintings of the Madonna and Christ child, including many by famous Italian artists. But this is a one trick pony from my perspective. Only spend your time and money here if you love religious Renaissance paintings. There's little else.

I felt disrespect and discrimination. The conductor began asking me how old I was. Then still sold the tickets at the original price. it because only Europeans have discounts below the age of 25. I would like to ask: Since there is no concession, do you ask me how old am i? And i want to ask why europeans have discount?

Even with rooms closed for restoration the Accademia is a treasure trove of Venetian art. Guorgione's 'Tempest' is not to be missed.

Amazing collection. But you may have to exit the main lobby and cross the courtyard to find the special exhibitions. Be sure to ask!

An awesome collection of art linked to Venice. If you have any interest in art from the renaissance to romantic, be prepared to spend at least three hours here, with much gasping at yet another masterpiece - longer if you use the audio guide on all of the work it covers. (You can appreciate much of it without, thanks to dual Italian / English info.) My favourite bit was the juxtaposition of the 'here's what we got back from France after Napoleon naughtily stole it' pieces with the large 'we stole St Mark from Egypt and we don't care who knows it' painting.

Fantastic museum. The art is renaissance in origin with a heavy emphasis on religious art. Well worth a visit. Plan on two hours or more.

Using a toilet was charged 1.50 euros per person, place like this with million visitors should have accomodation services or if you want to charge keep it reasonable without making a buck out pizz

Very interesting place. But unfortunately, Veronese 's "The Feast in the house of Levi" left in the hall which is under restauration till November 2019 :(

The gallery is huge. Space is amazing, the building itself is an art, as the city of Venice. Take a good time to visit it, if you are into paintings and history this will be awesome for you. And maybe it's a good idea to pay a guide or buy the audio guides, I didn't and I feel sorry for it after.

A good sized museum with many pieces related to Venice, Italy, and Christendom, among many other subjects such as a famed Venetian that designed major buildings during the building of St Petersburg and such. The audio guide is decent, and most of the place is pretty easy to get around with a stroller. It was also not crowded and cool, away from the crowds of tourists

This gallery is worth a visit - the art is mainly displayed chronologically which is great as you get a real feel for the progression of art throughout the centuries. (Note: it only goes up to the 18th century)

Lovely huge paintings. Just an fyi...it has 3 floors which we didn't realize until later. So we ended up spending too much time on the ground floor...and then had to rush through the 2nd floor which had much bigger and better artpieces. We didn't even get to the 2rd floor since we ran out of time. Make sure you have atleast 2.5-3 hrs minimum if you want to see all the floors and paintings carefully.
