A must see museum in a city of many musts. A unique artist with noteworthy biography. Make sure you read a little of what is written at the entrance, or better still, online. The museum gives a comprehensive view of Hundertwasser many talents and a chance to view his work, mostly paintings but also other media and other disciplines. A must visit to every one with a spark of creativity, every artist be it a painter or a photographer. The coffee shop is also very nice and so is the souvenir shop. If you have the time or inclination this is a place to spend a few hours wondering.

Nice place, not typical. As museum I recommend it much and a place to see, make photos. Today we had breakfast in the restaurant. The prices are a little bit too high as for what we had to eat. The food was fresh (except bread) but the choice is was small and dishes are not really standard. Coffee was not really good, not tasty at all.

One of the most Iconic places to visit when in Vienna, the Kunst Haus Wien is something you simply have to experience in person. Seeing the art out in the open and on display is magnificent. It is full of personality and quirkiness which you'll be looking at trying to find all the details. This stretch of road and buildings is unlike anything else in Vienna, and well worth taking the time to visit and experience.

Very cool museum, great discount for students! Would not recommend taking kids to top floor, lots of nudity. Architecture oftentimes cooler than the art...

An amazing place! I knew Hunderwasser was popular and liked, but it turned out that he was a real genius in all aspects of art. And the Kunst Haus is the most amazing place I've seen. So unusual and so beatiful at the same time.

We were pleasantly surprised by the absolutely cute and open air cafè, with a glass atrium roof. It is tucked away in the back... almost hidden on a residential street, and we happened upon it as we were walking to the city center. Very good espresso, and sampling of guloush. We found the colorful mosaic on the wall leading to the bathroom very amusing. This place has great energy with a light tongue and cheek approach. It is also connected to a small museum. Definitely worth stopping in to enjoy a little bit of relax in a light and airy atmosphere.

Mesmerizing show of colors and concepts. Hundertwasser truly had an artist's spirit. They charge 5€ for students so if you're a student make sure to bring your student id. The 3rd floor is reserved for exhibitions that costs extra. There's a great short film on the artist that plays in the tv room, make sure to watch it. Taking photos inside the gallery is prohibited but we sneaked a couple anyways (sorry).

Must-to-see in Vienna. Surrealism surprises you. Take a beer/coffee in the cáfe and relax before you leave the Museum. Then you will have the chance to take a deep look for each pieces shaping the building.

This was an incredible house demonstrating emotive, talented and innovative art. We were totally thrilled that we had chosen to leave the centre of Vienna and walk out here. It was amongst our favourite memories from our holiday.

Loved the museum! The student ticket is only 5 Euro which is definitely worth it. Both the artwork and the featured photography exhibit were very interesting!

Extremely rude staff. I didn’t know it was not allowed to take pictures since there was no sign at the door and I was only taking a picture of an explanation on the wall not the artwork itself, while the staff rushed to me almost pushing me aside, yelling: “I TOLD U NO PICs!” I’ve never ever experienced anything this rude in any of the hundred of museums I’ve visited. It’s such a pity since museum itself is nice but my visit was completely ruined.

We went here as part of a 3 day break to Vienna. The guide books had Hundertwasser as an equivalent to Gaudi and a Vienna must see. The exterior of the building was promising, the staff were polite inside and there was a free staffed cloakroom. The Hundertwasser exhibition was interesting in places, but although I like some modern art, this didn’t do too much for me. The recycling and uneven floor element which was part of his work continued to the interior of the house and exhibition area and left me slightly cold, the interior was too dark and didn’t let the art stand out, although that may have been the idea to keep it organic. On our visit there was a guest exhibition and this interested me more and in my mind was better presented. Overall, the art didn’t do much for me, but that’s just personal opinion, possibly worth visiting, but not a must see for me.

For me, this is the must visit place in Vienna. The exhibition shows some great expressionist art (I am not a professional so don’t hang me if I am wrong here) and also describes the philosophy and thoughts of the artist. Behind the colorful, weird, sometimes funny art there is a deeper thought of how humanity should live in balance with nature! Tree tenants unite!!

You have to love this quirky artist (Hundertwasser) and this wonderful building with its wavy floors, irregular tiling and beautiful fountain. A great place to have a coffee outside in the lush courtyard garden whilst admiring the rear of the Kunst Haus. Prices are expensive though even by Viennese style.
