Wonderful museum with lots of variety. Went there for a Ruben´s exhibition but have to admit that the fixed exhibitions were even more impressive. You need to plan at least half a day to see every room, maybe even more. I can also recommend the restaurant on the first floor for a quick snack. In total: One of the best cultural experiences I had so far.

This is the museum that ends all museums! Absolutely stuff full of arts collections, many of which are important and world famous. Yes, one can easily spend a whole day here and still hasn't covered it all. For arts and history lovers, this is a paradise. It is surely one of the top ten must see in Vienna.

It's such a beautiful museum, very big, full of amazing masterpieces. I expected it to be full of people but I was surprised to see how empty it was. You can just stroll through the museum collections, nobody is going to bother you.Prepare to spend there some good hours if you really want to admire the stunning collections. I spend there almost 5 hours. There is no fee for personal photos.I recommend to look up for the beautiful ceilings. It's a must see if you visit Vienna.

Absolutely stunning place. The collections are amazing. Absolutely beautiful. I could happily spend an entire day there. The building and its surroundings are stunning as well

Excellent museum containing an extensive collection of paintings. A Vermeer masterpiece and a good selection of "Flemish Primitives". I only had time for a two hour visit, wish I could have spent more time here.

Totally amazing art. Blown away. Not expensive entry, and the richness of their collection is absolutely must-see. There's a beautiful restaurant inside which was too much for our wallet, but looks like a scene from an historical fiction. Give yourself plenty of time to amaze at the freshness of old masters.. and new.

I've been visiting a lot of museum and this one is for us the most beautiful and prestigious museum I've seen. The art exhibition is really diverse and amazing. I totally recommend the audioguide. They have many languages available and the information is complete and really interesting.

Watch out for incorrect ticketing. We paid for a combi ticket (20 euros) for entry to both the Art and Natural History museums but only went around the Art Gallery museum as there was so much to see. Two days later we tried to go in the Natural History museum and were repeatedly just told to go away as our ticket was not valid. Despite trying to politely ask about clarifying the ticketing it was - 'Here's the door...go'. Having got back to hotel to check matters we can see that although our tickets are priced on the back as 20 euros the image on the front is the one for 15 euros as according to the web site. There is so little English spoken that there's nothing we could do and it was our last day in Vienna. So wasted money and had to change our plans. Totally no chance of discussing and showing the amount we had paid. POOR.

Great art museum in which you could probably spend more than a day in, since it's really big! The art exhibited there is very beautiful and interesting and very nicely organised. Not only that, but also the architecture in general is very beautiful and stunning. I definitely recommend to visit this museum, if you are in Vienna at any point. It is a must!

Such a beautiful building containing beautiful art. You need around 4-6 hours if you like reading about the history of the artworks. There’s also a restaurant coffee bar where you can have a chill time and recharge your energy to continue. It’s a place worth visiting if you’re staying for a longer period of time in Vienna, or if you’ve already been around the city.

The museum has amazing art, but unfortunately it is visitor-unfriendly. Visitors beware that the tickets are for a single entry during a day visit. In our case we got in on a late Thursday afternoon, planning to stay until the closing at 9 pm (extended hours only Thursday). We planned to eat dinner at the only restaurant inside the museum, but it turned out that the restaurant was closed for a private event, so there was no food in the building. At dinner-time we asked if we could get out, grab some quick food, and finish our visit later, also considering that the only restaurant inside the museum was closed. Answer: “no”. I even offered to leave our tickets and my ID with them while we grabbed dinner. “no”. So much for the famous Austrian “hospitality”... perhaps they could learn a thing or two from the US museums (e.g. the excellent Art Institute of Chicago) on how to treat their guests?

Stunning well organised art. You should definitely visit this museum along with Natural Museum. You literally will have a brief through history's art. Reserve for this at least half a day as you will not find too much time to spend here.

My mind was blown. I am by no means an art person. But seeing these works close up changed my appreciation for higher culture. The museum contains beautiful pieces from the past. I especially enjoyed the Roman busts of the emperors. I finished by looking at the Egypt section with the sarcophagus’s. You need 6 hours to properly do the entire museum. Discount with student ID = 11 Euros.

Purposely went to see the Klimt bridge marking the centenary of the death of Gustav Klimt to get a close up look at his paintings, twelve metres above ground over the main staircase. Brilliant. You could easily spend a day/ days looking at the amazing collections within this museum. Beautiful architecture and lovely cafe to boot.

Grand museum with many old world paintings from the grand masters. The three Caravaggios were incredible to see. The Klimt air walk was super cool ( basically stairs up to a platform that you can view some of his painting near the ceiling).

It’s a beautiful neo-classical building and one of the most important museums in the world. Probably, you will need more than 4 or 5 hours to see all the collections. They exhibit the most famous painters of Western canon, since Titian to Klimt. Every art lover should visit this museum.

That's a huge and very interesting museum. There are many great exhibitions and the appearance of the museum itself is already worth the visit. I spent 4 hours inside it and still wasn't able to see everything. Really a treasure of Wien.

The best museum in the world. So diverse, so intense, so well exhibited and so beautifully set. It’s amazing by all terms and should be the first place to visit in Vienna. Up to 19 years it’s even free. Friendly staff. Plan a lot of time! Really, it’s never ending. Come well fed and early and you may make it for a very late lunch, but not really, it’s more a diet day because you just want to see everything!

Might just be the museum of museums. To not visit the museum in Vienna is to miss out on a TON of culture. The Egyptian section alone is a whole days affair (for the interested). The museum in itself is both rich and beautiful in decor and style. Very easy to get lost in the mazes of incredible wealth of history.

Kids free up till age 19 making this a very affordable visit. A lot of different types of art and artifacts for everyone. There was also many plaques in both German and English with interesting information which is much appreciated. A nice stop on a hot day in Vienna.
