This is a nice square in Vienna and a good point to begin a tour towards the main attractions. I visited in December and there is an incredible Christmas spirit merge with the beautiful buildings of the surrounding museums. During the night in December, it is possible to enjoy the decoration and the possibility to see the moon over Maria Teresa statue at the center of the square.

Great area to branch off to see the different districts of Vienna. Lots of architecture and beautiful gardens. Not very busy. Lovely to just sit and have a picnic or a nice coffee.

Amazing place. Sadly we visited in the winter, i bet it is even more impressive when the garden is lush and green. Highly recommend visiting this if you are in Veinna.

Beautiful square in the city center! The big statue in the middle represent Marie Therese empress, the first woman emperor in human history since 1740bc. The square itself is beauty with a lot of green. On two sides, one in front of each other, there are the twin palaces (are identical if you pay attention) and today are museums (one is natural science museum, the other one not permanent expressions of art). On the rest of the other two sides one border with the famous Ringstraße and the other one with Dom Quartier, a whole district dedicated to museums and art. So you can't miss it if you'll visit "the best city to live in the world"!!

Beautiful statute of Maria Theresie... Maria Theresa Walburga Amalia Christina (1717 – 29 November 1780) was the only female ruler of the Habsburg dominions and the last of the House of Habsburg. With her husband, Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor, had eleven daughters, including the Queen of France, the Queen of Naples and Sicily, the Duchess of Parma, and five sons, including two Holy Roman Emperors, Joseph II and Leopold II. Of the sixteen children, ten survived to adulthood. Though she was expected to cede power to Francis and Joseph, both of whom were officially her co-rulers in Austria and Bohemia, Maria Theresa was the absolute sovereign who ruled with the counsel of her advisers.

Great park for hanging out with friends. It's right between the art and nature museums. There are some cigarette buds on the ground here and there, but other than that it's rather clean. There is also security personnel that goes around. For some reason they prohibit playing ball games and such. The garden is shaped in a lovely way.

It was a beautiful. The attractions around it are interesting too. Might not be a place I would plan to visit twice but it's a place to at least view and experience at least once.

Vienna is just Beautiful. Love Vienna. Every landmark is beautiful. Including Maria-Theresien Platz. Will definitely visit Vienna again.

While in Vienna went back to the place a number of times. It is the museum quarter with an expanse of gardens and terrace. Busy on holidays and weekends. An early April visit brought us to this grand sight graced by the beautiful sculpture of Maria Theresa on throne. The Museums are awesome with their huge collections, especially the Museum of Art. Having a bite while relaxing in the garden behind the statue was one my most memorable moments while in this great, bustling heritage city.

Beautiful place, not much to do but you can spend a nice relaxing time there. This place is close to several places you should also visit while In Vienna. The 2 buildings are twins, it's a really beautiful place to visit and take a panoramic picture with both constructions.
