Arrived just before closing time and didn't see too much. What I did see told me to come here again and have a proper look. Loved the Napoleonic eagles, the terrific displays of plate mail, musketry. There is such history here. I understand there's a working T34 Soviet tank here. That has to be a sight to behold.

Typical Viennese museum. Very nice expositions - well done. Not too crowded as well. Parking right in front of the door. Can you ask for more?

It's really sad. They have some of the most unique things I've ever seen in a museum and I've been to far too many museums in my life. But the staff here are really rude and it's clear they're not used to having a lot of tourists here. When we went they didn't even have the English audio guides. Only German and Russian. And all the signs are in German so we spent a lot of time deciphering German using Google translate. I literally wanted to see 2 more items before we left the museum but despite it being open till 5, they rather bluntly kicked us out at 4:30. I think this might be a Viennese culture thing though cause a few other places did that to us. If you go, focus your time on their world war collection. It's very fascinating. Unfortunately their tank yard was closed when we visited but it must be a delight to see. Expect it to be a quiet less well known than other tourist spots in the city. Fyi their cafe has no good food so don't show up hungry. If you're tight on time, you could tour this place in under 2 hours.

Awesome museum dealing with the military history of Vienna. Was a fun visit and lots of interesting information throughout the history.

A must to visit. Lots of interesting stuff. Related to military but not agresive, kids seems to enjoy it a lot. It's more like a history "book"

We went on the 1st Sunday of the month as tickets are free and I'm a bargain hunter. Having been now I would say that even if you do pay the tickets are worth the price, there are 4 parts of the museum containing a large collection of military weapons, uniforms/armour, vehicles (including the in which Franz Ferdinand was shot in 1914). Great day out in a good location.

Probably my favorite museum I've been to in Europe. If your a history buff and interested in military history from 1500-1945 this place is loaded with cool items to see. We spent a few hours and got to see pretty much everything. Really cool place.

This is a great place to see the history of Austria at war, and features more items used in battle rather than ceremony (as seen in the Imperial Armoury). The displays consist of indoor (2 floors) and outdoor (for tanks and such). Best of all it is FREE on the day I went!

One of the best museums in Vienna. They have a great selection of armors, guns etc. The museum covers a great span of history, from around the 15-16th century to modern times. They also have a lot of tanks on display: various models of the British centurion tank, self propelled guns, Russian tanks, French tanks etc. Wonderful experience. Cannot recommend it enough. Also the gift shop has a wide range of cool stuff.

Very humbling and informative experience. Easy to lose hours and hours wandering the exhibits. Amazing to see the history of the Austro-Hungarian empire and how it led up to WW1 and WW2. Franz Ferdinand’s uniform and the Car of Sarajevo are exhilarating to see in person. Helped to visualize the history we’ve all been taught, and really drives home how careful we all should be moving forward

Really interesting & well presented exhibition. It was great to be able to collect the printed(multi lingual) info sheets that detail the history of the campaigns & exhibits. If there's 1 thing that would help with the exhibition,it would be to have additional exhibit notes(by the glass cases) in another language & not just German. Other than that,a great way to learn about Austrias military history.Well worth a visit.

Amazing museum to visit, covering a range of war periods. Stunning museum inside and out. Great WW1 & WW2 displays. Only disappointment is that there was no english caption for items, but great museum anyways. Highlight was the car and uniform Archduke Franz Ferdinand died in in Sarajevo in June 28 1914.

Amazing! Great place to visit. If you're in Vienna, make sure to see this museum! It would've been nice to see some English text, though. If you don't speak German, you're going to be in trouble. Staff doesn't really speak English either.
