It is a beautiful monument definitely worth the peek if you find yourself in old town. I also recommend giving it's history a read.

Great meeting point. Lots of interesting buildings around the column. Great for touristy photos. And seems to be a mish-mash of cultures or things to do (markets, horse carriage rides, road train rides etc).

This monument has a lot of history and is well known because it was brought from another place. The beginning of stories is very interesting and a great tourist place recommended.

originally erected in 1644, is located in Castle Square, Warsaw, Poland and is one of Warsaw's most famous landmarks. The column and statue commemorate King Sigismund III Vasa, who in 1596 had moved Poland's capital from Kraków to Warsaw.

I rate it highly because it has a strong symbolic value of old warsaw city. the column was built/ rebuilt recently after it was damaged during the ww 2. it remains a reference point for visitors who visit the old city. there are royal castle, castle square, underground station, souvenir shops and restaurants around the column. constitution day parade is held at the square.

Column like a column. Some consider it a must-see in Warsaw, but for me it is just a statue on a high pillar. It is very nice, I just say it is not one of the best things Warsaw has to offer.

I think the columns may represent some meaning or message behind, cause I sometimes saw some columns in European countries. The Sigismund's Column is re-constructed since the original one was destroyed in the War. Background information on the internet " On the Corinthian column (which used to be of red marble), 8.5 m high, a sculpture of the King, 2.75-metres high, in archaistic armour is placed.Sigismund's Column now stands at 22 metres and is adorned by four eagles. The king is dressed in armor and carries a cross in one hand and wields a sword in the other."
