This museum was incredible. I came with Viking River Cruises and we had a tour guide who was super knowledgeable, but I really just wanted to go around and reflect and learn on my own. Thankfully, the listening devices Viking have rock, so I was able to still hear our tour guide as I traveled on my own throughout the museum. Prior to my visit to Warsaw, I had no idea the Uprising ever happened. The museum did a fantastic job of opening my eyes and truly allowing me to empathize and "live" through the event. There are two areas dedicated to the time that some of the resistance fighters were stuck in the sewers. Both seek to immerse you in that horrible and tragic time and allow you to fully understand what they went through. I highly recommend taking the time to visit this museum. Do it for the brave polish men and women who sacrificed their lives to resist pure evil.

Fascinating museum telling the story of the Warsaw Uprising, well worth a visit. We went as a group but couldn't get a group ticket as we were told we needed to book in advance for that, otherwise it's an individual fare each! Accessible from the centre via a long walk or a 5 minute tram ride (No. 26 from the old town)

This museum was recommended by our host and was easily the best thing I did in Warsaw. As an English speaker, I debated about getting the audio guide, but decided against it and feel there were plenty of translations. Entering the museum you hear a heart beat and other sounds people in Warsaw would have heard during the uprising - church bells, aircraft overhead. What a powerful backdrop to the museum experience! I particularly enjoyed the videos interviewing people who lived in Warsaw during the war, most of whom participated in the uprising. There was also a really cool section with donated items from people who lived in Warsaw at that time - everything from teddy bears and bicycles to uniforms and medals.

Amazing, incredible place! One of the best museums I've ever been to! When you visit Warsaw, you have to go there! Audio guides in many languages! Not a high price to go there!

Very moving museum showing the background and experiences of Poles during the Uprising of 1944. Stories told through interactive displays, thousands of articles donated to the museum and personal stories. For 10PLN you can hire an audio set to hear more about each display. Includes a free 3D panoramic flight over the city showing the utter destruction at the end of WW2.

Amazing museum with so much information! Good location and easy to get to. Reasonably priced. I did find the direction on the tour a little confusing, not sure if we went the right way but so much information it didn’t matter. Also a lot of large tour groups which made it difficult to read some information as they stood in the way, but if your patient they move eventually. As there was so much information, it makes for a lot of reading, might have been easier with an audio guide but still really enjoyed it!

It's an amazing museum. Poland had a very difficult period in the Second World War being between the Nazis and Russians. This museum shows the brave acts of normal people from Warsaw. It's great that Poland authorities managed to build this museum so young generations won't forget the real heroes of the Warsaw Uprising.

It is one of the best museums about the second worldwide war. The feelings that it brings to his visitors are unique... There are videos, photos, vehicles, even a half aircraft at the bottom ... You have to visit it. I recommend you! On Sunday the entrance is free. It is open from 10:00 - 18:00. The day we visited it, there were many visitors.

If you haven't heard about what Polish people experienced during WW2, this is a good place to start with. To be honest, I would'nt recommend paying for the audio guide since there are overwhelming information written on the walls to read. Your brain can only take so much so better choose between reading or listening but I won't recommend both.

A very interesting museum. It gives a good overview about what happened. Most is also in English available but not everything. However, it was not a problem for me. Furthermore, Sunday free access so it can a bit crowded on Sunday

The Warsaw Uprising Museum is an absolute must if you are in Warsaw. I went on a Sunday when entry was free but I'd go again and pay, it's definitely worth it! Everything has English translations and the staff are helpful. The 3D flight over the ruins of Warsaw in 1945 is a highlight

Must see for every Warsaw visitor. Requires at least 2 hours. Stories are dark but with inspiring light of hope. Most historical museums double the wikipedia page. This one, having the same content, frames it in 3D shape - feels alive!

Good presentation of a dark period for the city. I always enjoy museums and this was no exception. Most information was translated into English and generally it made sense which isn't always the case. Attended on a warm humid day and despite several large school groups the a/c (clima) kept up fairly well. Definitely recommend way to spend 2-3 hours of you are into learning about the area.

The museum is full of information and the cost of entrance isn't too expensive. It's really interesting although can get a bit heavy at times. The English translations are all really well done and you can really loose a lot of time in here.

I enjoyed it. Especially the interactive stuff like wall with the heart beat. You can spend hours on reading everything, collecting pieces from calendar and looking at art in the garden. Has cafe inside with nice food, fresh orange juice and lovely views. Don't miss out on going to the tower and seeing Warsaw from there. The only thing I didnt see was 3D map but its because I went on 2nd may flag day and queues were massive.

While the subject of this museum is heart-wrenching, the museum well done. There are some graphic images but they are in barriers where only taller people (like adults) can see them. The sewer tunnels replica is fun for kids, the short documentaries are informative, and many exhibits are interactive (go in, touch, listen, etc) We purchased the services of a museum tour guide (through the museum's website) and I would highly, highly recommend it to get the most out of your time here. If you're interested in the Warsaw Uprising, you'll want to allocate at least 2 if not 3 hours here.

We must never let people forget or deny what happened. This museum has an excellent set of reminders and the 3D presentation is a must see. Also be sure to take the elevator up to the observation deck for a great 360o view of Warsaw. To do justice you nerd at least a half day. The hop on hop off Red buses have a nearby stop. The cafe on the bank is better then the cafe inside.
Christopher PearsonJuli 14, 2018
The museum has a non-traditional form, offering a different museum experience. There are audio guides offered in many languages at a reasonable price, but the layout is a but confusing, so I would recommend getting a guide instead. Following the numbers on your own is difficult as they are placed weirdly or missing. There is a lot of basic information in the audio guide and also a lot of written information to read if you want to go in-depth. Tends to be crowded with school tours. Worth visiting if you are interested in history.

We visited this museum whilst staying in Warsaw the last few days of our holiday. Very interesting and well, worth a visit. We did feel the exhibits were slightly out of order and for some reason found it hard to actually work round the museum logically. But still enjoyed it, if that is the right word for something informing us of how bad things were for the residents of Warsaw during WW2.
