Boasting an ideal location near Dupont Circle, only moments from Connecticut Avenue and other popular Washington, D.C. attractions, this luxury hotel offers modern accommodations, state-of-the-art amenities and exceptional services.
Our hotel has an intriguing history spanning over 85 years. When The Fairfax opened in 1927, distinguished guests were drawn to its stately elegance. Colonel H. Grady Gore and wife purchased the hotel in 1932, and at this time congressmen, senators, & ambassadors began to make the hotel their permanent residence. Prominent tenants included young Al Gore Jr., Mrs. Henry Cabot Lodge, and Admiral Chester William Nimitz. Young George H. Bush and parents, Senator & Mrs. Prescott Bush, also made The Fairfax home.
