The Hay–Adams is an historic luxury hotel opened in 1928, located at 800 16th Street NW in Washington, D.C. It south-fronts on Lafayette Square across from the White House. It sits on the former site of the connected 19th-century mansions which were owned by influential friends John Hay and Henry Adams, giving the hotel its name.
Lafayette Square and St. John's Episcopal Church, also known as the Church of the Presidents, are located across the street. The hotel is a contributing property to the Lafayette Square Historic District and Sixteenth Street Historic District and is also a member of the Historic Hotels of America.

Extremely attentive staff. We booked the The St. John's Church View Suite and was very well taken care of. From valet, to checking in, we did not lift a finger. Upon checking out, we had the rare opportunity of being escorted to the 7th floor for a tour and several photographs. I enjoyed strolling through the building and admiring the generations of architecture and interior design. Very Spooky.

Beautiful old classic Washington DC hotel. I was here for a conference and the space is classic, rich, and elegant with vaulted ceilings and a posh feel. The service is classy all around. Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

I really enjoyed this place! We went down to the bar in the basement - Off The Record - and it had such a cool vibe. It’s completely decorated in caricatures of presidents and has a very unique vibe. Right across from the White House you really feel like you’re a part of history there. Also fun fact- the Hay Adams is called the Hay Adams because they tore down the homes of the Hay and Adams (John Adams and John Quincy Adams descendants) homes to make the hotel.

A very attractive hotel just across Lafayette Square from the White House, with superb views of the White House and major monuments from most event rooms. Excellent food in the restaurants and at catered events. Near the Farragut West Metro station.

Extremely nice. The service is exceptional. Only thing that I dislike is that the elevators are small. This is because of the age of the hotel.
