Wembley Stadium (branded as Wembley Stadium connected by EE for sponsorship reasons) is a football stadium in Wembley, London. It opened in 2007 on the site of the original Wembley Stadium, which was demolished from 2002 to 2003. The stadium hosts major football matches including home matches of the England national football team, and the FA Cup Final. Wembley Stadium is owned by the governing body of English football, the Football Association (the FA), whose headquarters are in the stadium, through its subsidiary Wembley National Stadium Ltd (WNSL). With 90,000 seats, it is the largest stadium in the UK and the second-largest stadium in Europe.
Love the stadium! Fantastic atmosphere and amenities, especially if visiting any of the hospitality sections. However a pity about the queue after events as everyone is "funneled" into Olympic Way to try access Wembley Park station.
Iconic national football stadium and once temporary world famous home of the Spurs. Tour is worthwhile and place just 'drips' history. Must for any football fan from wherever you are. Good transport links.
Good ground just could do with being centrally located in the country. Check whose playing before you go otherwise you might be bored stiff watching the rags, not that they get to play at Wembley much. For awesome entertaining football follow Man City!
Looks great and the new stadium gives excellent views of gigs or sports. Pretty good food and toilet facilities too. But inexplicably poor transport connections given it was built recently. No tube or train station for what feels like miles and buses thin on the ground too. Bizarre. Takes hours to get home from - literally.
A great experience for my first time. Amazing lounge to look after you before, during half time and after the game. The seats we had were great and a win for England to cap it off!
What a magnificent building. Had the stadium tour and was impressed at aesthetics. Stadium is beautifully laid out and offers so much more than a sports stadium. There is a learning zone on site, it's a short walk to the various discount outlets for some big brand names and there are an array of big chain and smaller restaurants/eateries. Parking on non-matchdays is good and competitively priced.Be aware that there is considerable building work going on around the stadium so roads are occasionally closed. Visitors to the stadium on match days are subject to bag searches outside.
Really easy to get to by car or public transport. I'd recommend public transport as it's a stress free journey without the hassle of traffic and parking headaches. Two of my friends drove, 1 paid £30 to park, the other got a parking ticket. The stands are well made, you can see the pitch from all seats from what I could tell. Your allowed to bring a bag in, up to the size of a rucksack. No professional video cameras allowed. Staff were friendly. Great looking stadium and the closing roof makes it world class. Think I was tier two, Will update the review when I find out. As you can see from the photos. The view was great.
Went to watch the England vs Nigeria match. Long queues to get into the stadium, but moves pretty quickly and you can be at your east within 5-10 minutes. We were sat up in the bleachers, so you can follow the match easily, but enough to really see the players on the pitch. The main issue is the amenities at half time. The queues take up the majority of the corridor meaning it is very difficult to get to what you want. Which is another issue, not every stall serves the same food & drink. So you have to slowly make your way around to what you want, join a long queue, order and receive your food before having to slowly make your way back around to your section. I think this is a huge part of the reason for empty seats after half time. Simply poor designing. If you want an alcoholic beverage, you have to drink it by the bars as you can't take it to your seat. So by the time we were done drinking our pints and made our way back to the seats, 9 minutes had passed in the second half and we missed a Nigeria goal. They need to seriously rethink the design of the bars and food stalls for things to improve drastically regarding the empty seats after half time.
Second visit to the national stadium and my wife and I enjoyed the experience. We went to see the mighty Sheffield Wednesday in a playoff game and had a very nice time (apart from the result). The view and atmosphere as you approach the ground are amazing. The stadium is well laid out, nicely signposted and easy to get around. The view we had in the stadium was fabulous and the overall experience was extremely positive. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Brilliant stadium with good views of the pitch from virtually anywhere. Good facilities too. I recommend going to see England play as it is very cheep, especially going with children in the family enclosures.
My day out at Wembley was a birthday present. I had a great day that's why I gave it a 5. The place it's self is reasonably accessible. I think the food and drink are vastly over priced. The stewards were helpful. Security was great. Think those people actually watching how we behave r needed. I think they r too pushy though and they detract from the fans having a really great experience. The money we all pay to to get there and to get in , they ought to be more understanding. They were like little hitters the way they handled some supporters.
Went during an American football game so the food options were more plentiful. The atmosphere is crazy. Nothing you see on TV will prepare you for how hype people get in real life. Great day out. Saw lots of kids about so family fun is doable even with the massive crowds.
Fantastic stadium. Plentiful entrance and exits. Good tech for ticket checks makes things really efficient. Great security staff makes this a safe place to enjoy a sporting event. Good transport options.
