Attingham Park is an English country house and estate in Shropshire. Located near the village of Atcham, on the B4380 Shrewsbury to Wellington road. It is owned by the National Trust. It is a Grade I listed building.
Attingham Park was built in 1785 for Noel Hill, 1st Baron Berwick. Lord Berwick, a former MP for Shropshire, received his title in 1784 during the premiership of William Pitt the Younger, during which he had been instrumental in the reorganisation of the East India Company. Lord Berwick already owned a house on the site of Attingham Park called Tern Hall, but with money he received along with his title he commissioned the architect George Steuart to design a new and grander house to be built around the original hall. The new country house encompassed the old property entirely, and once completed it was given the name Attingham Hall.

No fancy gardens, mostly parkland. Also, the house is preserved as a little down-at-heel, reflecting the tumbling fortunes of the family who owned it. That social history of decline into genteel poverty runs like a thread throughout the displays. Overall, interesting, but I wouldn't drive miles out of my way to see the place. Good for a visit if you're local.

Attingham Park is a great place and we often go to walk the grounds as do many people. The Mansion House is definately worth a visit. The only downside is cafeteria food. Once they boasted local produce even grown in the walled garden. Now cooked food is of motorway service standard. Tastes precooked and reheated. I understand the NT are trying to reduce costs so take your own grub.

Beautiful park, lovely walks to choose from. Nicely presented small stately home in process of restoration. Upgraded tea rooms have a nice menu with options for most. Good gift shop. Very popular with local dog owners and young families. A very enjoyable day.

This place is just amazing! Breath taking view! If you want to experience British culture this is the place! I have never seen such a elegant building and interior in my life. Check out the curved room!! As you enter you will find a field of grass full of wild animals! Didn’t have time to finish off the whole park but had a taste of it’s freedom and culture. You should visit the mansion and to experience the way they use to cook! Back in the day! (Using wood) Would come back here again with more time on my hands!

Lovelt place, beautiful walks with deer and cattle. House has a few rooms to look round and is being renovated so not all room completed but what you get is lovely. Staff and volunteers very knowledgeable. Garden and walks are spectacular and you could spend the day walking in the countryside. Coffee is lovely and cakes in the stable area! Highly recommend the raspberry and coconut short cake yum!!! Kitchen had a lovely fire and display with cakes to try!! Overall good experience will return.
