Monument to the Sun or The Greeting to the Sun (Croatian: Pozdrav suncu) is a monument in Zadar, Croatia dedicated to the Sun. It consists of three hundred, multi-layered glass plates placed on the same level as the stone-paved waterfront. It consists of a 22-meter diameter circle, with photovoltaic solar modules underneath. Lighting elements installed in a circle turn on at night, and produce a light show. The monument, designed by Croatian architect Nikola Bašić, symbolizes communication with nature, communicates with light, while the nearby Sea organ communicates with sound.
The monument is located at the entrance to the port of the Croatian town of Zadar on the western point of the Zadar peninsula.

Lots of people to socialise with, can get crowded. Amazing sunsets with the solar lights going when the sun goes down. There are also sea organs in the ground that makes cool sounds when the wind hits them.

Very nice atmosphere - the sunset there makes everyone relaxed, happy, playful, open. It is a place where many cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs are at peace together.

A lot of tourists, but great view on sunset. Size comparisons of the solar system. The picture shows the sparkling sun at night.

A beautiful representation of the Solar System using solar panels, made even more special by the music from the Sea Organ and the view of the sea around it.

Amazing spot to look at the sunset. Lot of people come here to relax at the end of the afternoon and to listen to musician and water organs. It's a magical place to set down after a day visiting the town. Come here with your family, friends or even better, with your lover. In the center, you can see the solar panels and your reflection in it. In short, a stunning place worth coming at sunset.

Really unique and worth seeing at sunset, but there are so many tourists, families and kids that it ruined the vibe. It's not romantic or peaceful, it's busy and family-oriented. There were people selling light-up toys and it was very loud. Not a bad thing, but still good to know for solo travelers and couples. I recommend experiencing it on a weekday and possibly with your own music 😊
