Paradeplatz is a square on Bahnhofstrasse in downtown Zürich, Switzerland. It is one of the most expensive pieces of real estate in Switzerland and has become synonymous with wealth and the Swiss banks, being the location of the headquarters of both UBS and Credit Suisse. It is surrounded by four blocks of buildings.
The site of the square lay without the medieval city walls, and was incorporated into the town with the construction of the new ramparts in 1642. During the 17th century, it served as a livestock market, known as Säumärt ("pig market"), renamed to Neumarkt ("new market") in 1819 and finally to its current name following the construction of Bahnhofstrasse (1865).

Great place to see the Christmas lights. Usually crowded. Most trans go through this place so it's quite easy to reach other parts of the city from here. It's a really nice walk from here to either the lake or the main train station along Bahnhofstraße.

Love this place but not sure what specifically makes it a tourist attraction. Its mostly just a main crossing for teams with a cool station building.

Paradeplatz is an icon of Zurich. What used to be the former headquarters of the Stock Exchange is now the headquarters for Credit Suisse. UBS is also located at this plaza which transforms it into the financial heart of the city. Great place for amazing photos! Don't miss going around the area towards the Limmat river. There you can get a great view of the Grossmunster and Fraumunster churches.

Very nice square amidst the Bahnhofstrasse, beautiful shops and if you danced a nice tea and chocolates pop by the famous Sprüngli on the first floor.

A main square where a number of Swiss banks are located. There’s not much to it other than being a main crossing for both public transportation and vehicles. It’s worth looking up and taking notice if you’re passing through the area, but don’t go out of your way to see this. There’s not much to see or do.

It's OK. Quite a big hub if you travel by tram but there is not much to see. Looks a bit better during Christmas time as there are stands with drinks and food and the UBS building gets lit up.

Central place for the trams, not far from Hauptbahnhof and the lake. This is the centre for the banking system. Hermes is situated here, as are some very nice architectural buildings and some great restaurants.
