The Polybahn, also known as the UBS Polybahn, is a funicular railway in the city of Zürich, Switzerland. The line links the Central square with the terrace by the main building of ETH Zürich, which was formerly called Eidgenössisches Polytechnikum, and from which the railway derives its name. Previous names for the line include the SBG Polybahn and the Zürichbergbahn. The line is owned by the banking group UBS AG, and operated on their behalf by the municipal transport operator Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich.

The only one in Zurich but mainly used by the students going up to the university. Great to visit and a fun and short ride. It's just a short walk from the main train station. Tickets are fairly priced. After the ride up enjoy the view from the University right next to the station.
Quick and efficient; runs very often. We had trouble working out what ticket we needed; the machines are confusing (I do speak German but don't live in Zurich so that may be part of the problem). Fun to ride up on the front and beautiful views from above the city; you can walk back down much more easily than going up so it's a nice way to see more of the city.
Super cool to go up hill to the university, amazing views from there.
Don't forget to have coffee at the top of the Lane
Goes very frequently and is useful to us students, worth going for the experience though. Regular Zurich public transport ticket is valid for it as well.
A nice short trip where you have a nice panorama of the city.
Nice views from the top, journey takes about a minute.
