The Zürich Opera House (German: Opernhaus Zürich) is an opera house in the Swiss city of Zürich. Located at the Sechseläutenplatz, it has been the home of the Zürich Opera since 1891, and also houses the Bernhard-Theater Zürich. It is also home to the Zürich Ballet.
The first permanent theatre in Zürich, the Aktientheater, was built in 1834 and it became the focus of Richard Wagner’s activities during his period of exile from Germany.

One of the leading opera houses in Europe; always presenting top notch productions with star studded casts! Also home of Zürich Ballet, which is a company of equal standing. This picturesque building is located centrally next to the beautiful Zürich lake(very easy to get to from the Hauptbahnhof). An experience at this opera house will leave you wanting to return most definitely!

I am not a big opera or ballet fan myself, but I enjoyed my visit very much and will definitely come back. The ambiance at the event - I was seeing The Nutcracker - was impressive. Definitely recommended!

Great and well organised opera house in the middle of Zurich. Beside the opera program it offers plenty of other concerts and it always worth a visit.

Could not entered so all I can say about this place is beautiful and has big square in front with many chairs for the people to rest.

Fantastic place to hang out and just people watch. This place just great to sit and relax. We didn't actually go into the Opera House as there was an event on, but hanging outsidd was fun and definitely a highlight. Also, the view of the Alps was pretty spectacular.

This house stages great productions, and the building is beautiful in a picturesque location. The public is courteous and well-dressed. The only issue is the lack of air-conditioning, it was very hot on June 2, 2018 and at times made it uncomfortable due to the temperature during the opera too high. I am not sure why a wealthy city like Zurich cannot afford a better climate control system as it is customary in any American opera house. Still, it was better than in Germany where one has to suffer a sauna environment for Parsifal, etc.

There is a reason this is one of the top houses in the world. If in Zurich make sure this is part of your itinerary. They have ensured the acoustics are tremendous. The space is well designed and although I can see that a few of the sight lines may be difficult that is true of most venues and requires some thought into seat selection.

Beautiful opera house, you should visit. But you should be aware that a couple of seats have blocked view. Make sure you are not buying seats with blocked view
